Mold on inside of cap after opening new jar
Opened a new jar of red raspberry preserves and even heard a pop when opened. Observed lots of mold on the inside of the cap in addition to jam. So glad I caught this before eating it. Very surprised and disappointed to see this by smuckers.

I've been buying the 30 oz red raspberry preserves for many years. Now I find the label color and jar design have changed. Plus it's now labeled as "spoonable" whatever that means. The Preserves seem to be exactly the same to me. My biggest beef is the jar design. The opening is smaller in diameter. Why? The smaller the opening, the harder it is to get the product out of the jar. Why would Smuckers want to frustrate their end users? I'm all for change if it serves a purpose, but this whole combination of changes listed above seems totally worthless.

When I have ordered this in the past it is all wrapped up in a protective covering so as not to break during transportation. I ordered 4 jars along with laundry soap. The jam was not protected but it should have been. All the jars made it safely. Thankfully. I commend the driver as being careful but the box was opened up when it was delivered. Too many items were packed in the box allowing it to break open.

I sent my husband to the store for preserves for my Christmas thumb print cookies. Of course he doesn’t check ingredients. I will be returning the red raspberry along with the apricot preserves. I refuse to buy products with high fructose corn syrup. I would expect better from Smucker’s

Moldy Lid
This used to be my favorite Raspberry Preserves go to brand until I opened a fresh jar this morning, and there was black mold on the lid. Unfortunately I didn’t notice until after eating some.

As liquid product channels through the manufacturing process, any product splashed on the lid may darken in high, intense heat. Tastes so so good!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really loved this rasberry jam and so does my kids! We got tired of the same flavors and when we found out Smuckers had new flavors we had to try them and are we glad we have. The red rasberry jam is delicious and it goes great on toast and biscuits, thats just a few of our favorites when we need a little snack. It tastes so so.good!!!
