A: You're absolutely right that this bed fits a standard twin-size mattress. However, as noted in the product manual, it must not be used without a proper mattress support system. The approved options include: A connected wood slat system that is 38 inches wide and extends 74-1/4 inches from headboard to footboard. A bunkie board (support board) with the same dimensions and a thickness between 1.5 to 4 inches. A box spring with the same dimensions (38" x 74-1/4"). So yes, you can use a box spring—but it's not mandatory if you have one of the other two support options. Best regards, Step2 Consumer Service

Q: Can someone confirm the actual dimensions? Based on the pictures abound counting peoples 6x6 and 12x12 floor tiles the dimensions seem to be off. It looks like it would be more like 48x84 not 58.5 x 89

Parts of the bed are a different color red then the other. There wasn't a diagram given for where the stickers go. The knit lines on the front of the bed was poorly trimmed.

Nice bed but came damaged. Huge debt on the front part. Too far into putting it together to call and get a replacement. Just a lot of money and then to get a dinged up one kind of sucks.

This is a cute bed and my son was very excited when he saw it. It wasn’t overly complicated to put together, but since I did it by myself, it took a while. The large stickers are hard to put on without leaving bubbles. My son immediately tried to open the doors. It would have been awesome if the doors did open, not just for him, but for me to lift the mattress whenever I have to change the fitted sheet. It is hard to change the sheets because the bed is an exact fit. It is very sturdy and I can get on it with no issues and it does not move. Overall, I am very satisfied with this bed and my son has the coolest room.

My grandson is thrilled with his new bed, His mom reports that he spends time playing in his room early in the morning before waking anyone else up as well as in the middle of the day - that's a bonus! The drawer is filled with his favorite toys and books and opened and closed frequently. We read reviews and made certain to put the graphics on before assembling and are very glad we did that. A note regarding that should be added to the assembly instructions. It is an easy and fun two person job.

We knew a family that needed some help, so we ordered 2 of these beds! The kids love them! They are sturdy and easy to assemble! One downfall is that they do not come with slats. So, just a warning. Otherwise, it is a GREAT purchase!! Highly recommend!

My son loves his new truck bed. He was almost 4 when he transitioned to a bed and it went super smooth. Putting together was not easy but was manageable. We are overall very happy with the purchase. My only complaint is the sheets are difficult to change.

It looks great, but it's constantly coming apart. The 4 main pieces need to be screwed together, which is what we will do. But for the price, you'd think it wouldn't be a problem

Must have two people to assemble this product. I recommend reading the manual before buying/assembling. Some of the stickers such as the wheel stickers, need to go on before assembly. You do need a mattress and a box spring or a bunkie board/slats. I LOVE this bed, my toddler loves it. This is his first big boy bed from a crib, transitioning to his own bedroom and he sleeps in this all night from the first night. Great product especially for those boys that love their cars !

My 5 year old love this bed however we have to wait for whole month to order that , bec of out of stock but easy to assemble I wish they put the stickers by them self instead of us to put it on which kind of difficult to prevent to do not get bubbles , I felt it’s expensive since I had to buy the twin wood slats , which didn’t included when you buy this bed overall it’s look pretty .

Nice bed but difficult to put together. The incorrect amount of screws and wrong tires were shipped with my order. 3 (A) tires and 1 (B) tire provided when it should have been 2 (A) and 2 (B) tires. Incorrect/ missing stickers provided.

It’s a kids dream come true if they’re into cars or trucks. Love the sides that help keep them in and glad I read other reviews so I knew to order bed slats. Had some issue with shipment, but Step2 customer service was on it and followed through until resolution. Love this bed for my little.

Package was sent in three separate shipments. One was lost and had to be shipped again. Parts of the bed are missing. Another box was delivered with a hole. Instructions had to be downloaded from website. It didn’t come with one.
