I am EXTREMELY PICKY with notebooks. This one's good.
The person who wrote a 1-star review must have gotten a defective one. The pages do NOT come out of the coil on mine. Everything about this notebook is absolutely perfect, except for a few tiny issues (I may contact the company to give feedback/suggestions). 1) I like the flexible, lightweight cover, but I wish it was made from a smooth, flexible laminated cardstock that resists getting marks on it and is easily cleaned with a damp cloth. The velvety texture of the cover is nice to touch, but it’s asking for damage. I had to put 2 of these notebooks back on the shelf at Target to find one without marks on it from people handling it. That’s too delicate for something that’s likely going to get thrown in and out of handbags and backpacks. I’d also love if the covers came in black, pale gray, and cream/ivory options too. Those would look beautiful against the gold coil. 2) The notebook should be just a hair wider in order for half-folded, letter-size documents to fit in the storage pockets (I am folding documents in thirds to make them fit). 3) I personally don’t love the date fields at the top of each page because I frequently cover more than one date on a single page. I prefer to just write in my dates wherever I need them. I prefer completely unstructured, lined notebooks for this purpose. I don’t want to be told how to use/structure my notebooks in any way. Let me decide. :) 4) It’s a little pricey. I’d buy these in quantity if they were a bit cheaper. Here’s what I LOVE about this notebook: 1) GREAT size (excellent for that tiny tweak I suggested above). 2) The bright gold coil is GORGEOUS. This bright gold accent color is a signature feature of almost all Sugar Paper products, and I’m here for it!!!! So pretty, huge selling point for me. 3) The bright white paper. I’ve been specifically searching for “gold coil notebooks” online for ages, but they invariably have ivory or darker cream paper, which I hate. I personally don’t need the color-coded “sections,” but it’s not a complete deal-breaker. I just ignore the color-coding on the side of the pages.

Not a good purchase
The pages come out of the rings it’s actually super annoying when you’re trying to turn the pages I had to quit using it and I still had about 2/3 left of the paper.
