Amazing page turner conclusion to the Series!
This is the last book of the US Marshalls trilogy and WOW!! The conclusion to the series was thrilling, totally captivating and satisfying as finally all the loose threads tie together in a surprising yet inspiring ending! This book was fantastic, as was the whole series! It’s a complete page turner! I loved that each book has had a different thrilling case to solve, while the main story -Madison husband being murdered and her being targeted- evolves during the three books, until we finally discover the truth about everything and justice is finally served. There are many great things about this book. I completely fell in love with the characters, so relatable and familiar! Madison and Jonas were amazing! It was great to follow their journey -a roller coaster, better said- where they grow in trust in God, open their broken hearts to a second chance at love and risk their lives in order to keep criminals from harming more people. I’m so sorry to let them go after going through so many things with them. Madison was a strong-willed woman, with a kind compassionate heart willing to sacrifice for others, and a vulnerability -after tragically losing her husband- that she tried to keep inside so she could be reliable and a rock for others. But her heart took its time to move on, the fear of losing again, of putting someone she cares for in danger because of her, was too strong. I liked how she slowly lowers her walls and Jonas's accountability becomes her anchor, first through friendship, until he becomes so important that life without him is not an option. And Jonás, I totally fell in love with him through the series! He is a true hero. Risking his life to save others. Focused, smart, with a heart of gold. I loved the way he always had Madison’s back, and how patient he was when he realizes he loves her, but sees she’s not ready to risk her heart again. His protectiveness was endearing. And his courage and selflessness also something to admire. Both had trusting issues, for different reasons. Both wanted to do God’s will and what is right. Both had to learn to let go, to forgive and find forgiveness. Their journey was not easy, but it was inspiring. To give God the control of their lives. To trust and make the most of what they were given. The plot was amazing: complex and with a lot of unexpected twists. A real page turner, each one of the books in the series, but especially this last one, where the real culprit, the one who killed Madison’s husband and was after her, comes to light. I love how there are lots of clues and leads, but there’s always the unexpected. This is definitely a book I recommend! The whole series, in fact, it is so much better to read it in order, even if you can read them as standalones.
