GEORGE HERBERT (1593-1633) served as a member of Parliament before becoming a priest in 1629. After his death, his friend Nicholas Ferrar published his poems under the title The Temple, quickly establishing Herbert's fame as a poet. JOHN DRURY is chaplain and fellow of All Souls College, Oxford.
