Book Synopsis

Diamonds are a girl's best friend. Can they also help Miss Olivia Gray's solve a murder?

London, 1920: Heiress Olivia Gray is bored out of her mind. After saving lives as am ambulance driver in the war, being trapped in her mother's palatial drawing room feels like a prison sentence she will never escape from. Even before her mother launches into yet another lament that there are no men left for Olivia to marry. But the last thing on Olivia's mind is a husband. She is determined to find herself a job as a photographer and make her own way in the world.

With no one willing to hire a woman, developing some old rolls of film for a friend of her mother's will at least get her out of the house. But once Olivia sets foot in the dark room she discovers more than old photographs waiting for: The body of a dead man.

When the fiancée of the victim is found dead only days later, Olivia knows there must be a killer on the loose.
Even more curious is that a valuable diamond ring was left behind by the killer and the only thing taken is a worthless piece of costume jewellery.

Everyone seems to think detective work most unsuitable for a young lady. But the disapproval of the police and her mother only spur her on to catch the killer before they strike again...
