Description

From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Better Than the Movies, Lynn Painter, comes a rags-to-riches rom-com about a small-town girl whose family inherits a fortune and moves to New York City, where she meets a big-city boy hiding an explosive secret.

Julia is just a small-town girl from Nebraska who loves her peaceful life. But when her elderly next-door neighbor—who just happens to be a secret multi-millionaire—leaves everything to Julia and her family after his passing, Julia is swept away to live in a historic brownstone in New York City and attend an elite private school for the super-rich.

It should be a dream come true. Wrong. Julia doesn’t fit in at her new school; worse, she’s failing. Enter Damion, the mysterious and handsome tutor who will get Julia back on track. Except Damion has a secret. He is the great-nephew of the man who left everything to Julia’s family. Damion doesn’t buy for a second that the person who was like a father to him would leave his home to strangers. And he’s determined to prove it.

To uncover the truth, Damion schemes to earn Julia’s trust. Not an easy task with Julia unsure about this rich boy with a rebellious personality. But the more time Damion spends with Julia, the more his plan begins to backfire. Because he is falling for the enemy—and the enemy is falling for him.

As Damion and Julia figure out where they belong, can they see past their differences and act on their feelings, or will the trust Damion has worked so hard to gain fall apart?

⭐️⭐️⭐️/⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

All of the Lynn Painter books are so good. The tropes, characters, plot structure, etc. But this one in particular was just not my favorite. Maybe it's just that the characters aren't really my type of vibe and that kinda threw me off. But if you love bad boy good girl enemies to lovers academia and a new york fall romance then this is definitely for you. There was like no spice just kissing scenes so it's good for 13+. I would definitely say that the plot moved really fast and i feel like there could've been more scenes where Damion was like a good boyfriend you know what im saying. But yeah overall it was a good book. 🍁🍁

Lynn Painter’s book “Trust Fall” is about teenage twins, Julia and Liam Lowell, whose family has inherited money and a house in New York City’s Gardenwood neighborhood from Lou Remington, provided that they move to New York City and live in the house for at least six months. Damon Rutledge was Remington‘s great nephew and had expected to inherit the house. That all changed when everything was left to the Lowells. Damion is a student at Gardenwood Academy where the twins have been enrolled. He has also been assigned to be the math tutor for Julia. Follow Julia and Damion as they work through their situations at the Academy and in their lives. This was a fun story to read. Ms. Painter has again got the right note with this book. It was full of teen angst, miscommunication, rebellion and situations. It deals with being the new kid on the block and trying to fit in, in a new world where the rules are different. One would think that money would open doors, only there is a difference between old money and new money. Julia and her parents find this out the hard way. Throughout this book Damion is moved to do the right thing, even when it is hard. This book is perfect for the teenage/young adult reader that needs some encouragement in their reading and lives. I wish to thank Simon and Schuster Children’s Publishing for the complimentary eARC of this book and for selecting me to review it on NetGalley. All opinions are my own. #TrustFallLynnPainter #SimonandSchusterChildrensPublishing #NetGalley #Romance #Teen&YA
