Q: Does the sliding mechanism under the table have a means of "locking" to prevent the legs from folding back up when moved around?
A: No but legs only move slightly when moved around. There is a slight bend in the rail that prevents movement. A latch could easily be installed.
submitted bySue - 8 years agoA: Yes, there is a stiff wire that hooks into a hole that keeps it locked.
submitted bySuez2u - 8 years agoA: For this $10.97 tray there is no locking mechanism for the legs even though it says that on front. That being said I just like it so much that I’m willing to buy a two dollar lock and eye latch or put Velcro on it. It’s worth it. For its size and weight it looks really nice and holds really nice.

Q: How much weight can one table hold? The package says 44 lbs but one of your previous answers said 4 lbs. Which is correct?
A: I will respectfully disagree with the 44 pounds. This is like the old metal TV tray we had when I was a kid. Basically sturdy, but fold up easily to put away. Not meant to be a main table or such. That being said, they’re still reliable and I use it by the couch when I need it or in the bedroom it really helps and it’s easy to put away. It fits like a laptop and mouse on top of the most but if you have a small place, it’s perfect for it.
submitted byGracie - 15 days agoA: The tables have a capacity of 40 pounds each.

Q: Why does this product expose you to lead?? Is it safe to use and eat on? The website listed (p65warnings.ca.gov) did not have any additional information.
A: Items that are sold in the state of California or sold online and could be shipped to the state of California are required to have this label if there are certain types of chemical used within the product. The list of chemicals include additives or ingredients in pesticides, common household products, food, drugs, dyes, or solvents. Regarding this specific TV Tray, any possible chemicals are contained within the hardware of the tray table, not the table top itself.
submitted byBrand Expert - 4 years agoA: Still, California is one of the reliable states in our USA. The warning should be upfront or maybe they should step up and not have that type of exposure. Lead is pretty serious as an exposure element. I’m sure the makers could figure out a way to make it more safe. Maybe not outsourcing everything and making it all in one place or two.

Q: Is top waterproof? Will the wood bubble up?
A: This item is not waterproof and should be stored inside
submitted byBrand Expert - 5 years agoA: This wood TV Tray is recommended for indoor use.

Q: Is the table waterproof for storing outside?
A: I would suggest you do not, the table is not waterproofed
submitted byPDG Customer Service - 5 years agoBrand expertA: Forgive me, but I would suggest you add a waterproofing element just a slight one for the table top. I know it rains for sure in most of the states in the USA in someway. Also in many other countries than I thought Thailand had it good share of rain so I’m always surprised when I manufacture. Doesn’t add just a slight coat on top. Or suggestion where you can do that. :)
