About the Author

Alison Smith is the author of Name All the Animals, her first memoir, which was named one of the top ten books of 2004 by People and was a winner of a Lambda Literary Award and the Barnes & Noble Discover Award. Her work has also appeared in McSweeney's, Granta, The New York Times, Glamour, and Real Simple, among other places. She lives in Brooklyn, New York, and Northampton, Massachusetts, with her partner and her two dogs.
