  • A: Yes, I use fabric softener on mine. I just use a small amount, like about half of the lowest recommended line in the lid. I think they feel much nicer than without. And they absorb fine.

  • A: Try omitting fabric softener and just get some dryer balls. I have used fabric softener for 40 years but just switched to dryer balls a couple years ago. You’ll save money and eliminate so many harmful chemicals we didn’t know about in the past. I’m a RN and only throw my scrubs in the dryer for about 10 min with the dryer balls to take the wrinkles out and then hang them to finish drying. Never have static cling.

  • A: Ignore the response that says "Yes!" because it is incorrect. Towels should never be rinsed with fabric softener nor dried with dryer sheets, unless you like towels that do not absorb water.

Q: My husband and I like towels that are more on the 'scratchy' side vs so soft you can't get the water off your body. Which are these?

  • A: They are not like super fluffy hotel towels, and not scratchy like linen ones either. It's more like a thick firm gauze, and feels thin when using it almost like a kitchen towel but still very absorbent. They definitely do not push water around as long as you don't use fabric softener on them.

Q: Do these towels shed lint?

  • A: I just washed my Casaluna waffle towels to get ready to use. I was shocked to see that when they were done drying my lint trap was overflowing. I have never seen anything like it. I thoroughly cleaned out the trap and rewashed and dried the towels. And again the lint trap was bursting with lint from the towels. I haven’t used the new towels yet. I plan to use them for my morning shower tomorrow. I’ll report back if there are a lot of fuzzies clinging to me after my shower.

    Does not dry, gets moldy and tought on skin

    Very disappointed with this towel. Had it for 2 years now and although it holds up in wash it didn’t get any softer. The yarn is still rough and not pleasant on skin, especially sensitive one. Hand towel doesn’t get dry at all. It is always wet and gets moldy. My 3 dollar terry cotton hand towels work much better. I own other items from Casaluna and they are better than generic products as a rule, but this one is a bummer

    Does not dry hair well at all

    100% Turkish cotton towels are usually of very high quality and also highly absorbent, however, this towel is utterly ineffective at drying my long, fine hair. Somewhere in the product description it said the towel will shrink slightly and the weave will tighten, so I'm going to give it a few more washes to see if it does become better at doing its job. The cotton is very soft, but perhaps it's coated with something? A truly weird towel, would not recommend unfortunately.

    Excellent value, great towels

    Like these towels so much I have sets in 3 colors. Clay is my favorite. They dry quickly and feel very nice. The current version is larger than the original and includes a tab for hanging on a hook. They do kinda lose their shape a little bit, and maybe more pricey waffle towels are better made in the seams and stuff, but these are an amazing value and I am super happy with them.

    Nice but warning for piercings

    I loved how absorbent and soft this towel was. However, it got caught in my tiny stud earring and ripped it out. It then got caught on my nipple piercings and was stuck pretty bad. The towel was freshly washed, no wear/tear/snags in the stitching. The piercings got caught in between the waffle shaped stitching and just yanked. Not the best feeling but a warning to others who have body piercings to stay away from waffle towels! I now use them as floor mats getting out of the shower. Works great! I do wish they weren’t so expensive.

    Using as a hair towel

    Bought this as a hair towel and it’s working well. I haven’t had it long enough to say how well it will hold up to multiple washings. Taking off one star because the tag describes it as a “decorative towel”. Maybe because it is thin? But that’s what I wanted for hair only.
