This textbook takes a new approach to teaching creative writing that centers the concerns of multicultural students. She is author of Looking Both Ways (2017), The Time Between Places (2010), Letters from Cairo (2007), and Egyptian Compass (2006) and co-editor of two Arab American anthologies, Beyond Memory (2020) and Dinarzad's Children (2009).
