Bags and rolls use multilayer (multi-ply) plastic constructions — often including polyamide — and are described as BPA-free. This layered design helps resist punctures and create an airtight seal.

Descriptions indicate vacuum-sealed food can stay fresh up to five times longer than ordinary storage methods. Manufacturer materials also note that frozen food stored with the system can remain usable for up to three years in the freezer.

Cut the roll to the desired length, seal one end to create a closed bottom, fill the bag, then vacuum-seal the open end. This cut-and-seal method produces custom-sized bags from rolls.
