good bass pickups

The listings show pickups using Alnico 2, Alnico 5 (and Alnico V listings), as well as ceramic magnets — indicating a mix of Alnico and ceramic magnet types across models.

A PJ set pairs a split-coil P-style neck pickup (providing thicker low end) with a J-style bridge pickup (adding bite and attack). In other words, P pickups are split-coil designs often used at the neck for fuller lows, J-style pickups are used at the bridge for sharper attack, and a PJ combines both for versatility.

Multi-voice pickups offer distinct voicings (for example classic/fat, mid-cut/funk, and full-frequency voices) and modes such as single-coil splits, allowing a single pickup to produce several different timbres.

Some listings note batteries as optional. Multi-voice or active pickups may be powered either by an internal rechargeable battery pack or by a standard 9‑volt battery, depending on the pickup design.

The results include pickups for 4‑string and 5‑string instruments. Some 5‑string pickups are designed to fit standard DC40 routs for direct installation into common bass bodies.
