heavy duty pruning shears

Typical cutting capacity depends on the tool type: compact hand pruners often cut about 1.5 cm (≈0.6 in); many hand loppers and bypass shears list capacities around 35 mm (≈1.4 in) up to about 2 in; heavier anvil-style loppers may reach roughly 2.5 in. Check the specific product spec for exact capacity.

Common safety features shown include locking mechanisms or safety locks that keep blades closed for safe storage and transport.

Blade materials shown include SK-5 high-carbon steel, other high-carbon steels (for example 75Cr1), stainless steel, carbon steel, and some zinc alloy components. Product listings specify the exact steel or alloy used.

Many heavy-duty pruning tools use compound-action or compound-leverage mechanisms to multiply cutting force. The primary blade styles shown are bypass cutters and anvil loppers, with anvil types often used for thicker, dry wood.

Listings show rust-resistant or low-friction coatings such as Teflon (or similar) coatings and chrome plating; these finishes reduce corrosion and make blades easier to clean.

Common ergonomic features include anti-slip or contoured grips, lightweight handles, spring-loaded or high-tension mechanisms to reduce effort, and compound-action gearing that lowers the force required.

Wipe blades with a damp cloth (avoid harsh chemicals), dry thoroughly, and store tools in a dry place. Product listings often advise cleaning and drying blades after each use to prevent rust and damage.

They’re described for trimming fruit trees, hedges, shrubs, general landscaping, harvesting stems or flowers, and cutting thick or dry woody branches.
