Link's Awakening opens with Link stranded on Koholint Island, a mysterious place separate from Hyrule where animals talk and monsters roam. Your main goal is to collect the island's instruments and awaken the Wind Fish to uncover the island's secrets and find a way home.
As you complete story dungeons and certain mini-games you earn dungeon rooms (Chambers). In Chamber Dungeon you place those Chambers onto objective-based grids, arranging them to solve puzzles and meet goals to create custom dungeons.
The soundtrack for this edition has been refreshed with new arrangements — a reawakened take on the classic music that helps bring Koholint Island to life.
Link's Awakening is available in both physical and digital formats.
The game features classic trap-filled dungeons with puzzles, tricks and a variety of enemies. In addition, it includes the Chamber Dungeon system: you earn Chambers/Chamber Stones by completing story dungeons and mini-games, then arrange those Chambers on objective grids to build custom dungeons.
Mini-games award collectible dolls and Chamber Stones. Dolls are collectibles, while Chamber Stones (Chambers) are used to build Chamber Dungeons; additional chambers can also be unlocked by tapping compatible character figures.
This release adds refreshed soundtrack arrangements, the ability to equip more items at once, options to review key conversations, and improved map navigation. Mini-games were updated to award dolls and Chamber Stones for the Chamber Dungeon, and additional chambers can be unlocked by tapping compatible character figures.
