Many wall lamps are designed to be hardwired into home electrical wiring. Others—such as cordless or rechargeable sconces and gallery lights—use replaceable batteries or built-in rechargeable cells and do not require hardwiring.
Some wall lamps list integrated, non-removable LED bulbs or require built-in batteries. Other models are built for replaceable bulbs, commonly using an E26 medium base (bulbs not included).
Shade materials in these examples include glass, metal, and fabric/microfiber. Fixture bodies are commonly steel or iron.
Some wall lamps arrive with minimal assembly required (often labeled “Adult assembly required, no tools needed”), while many cordless or integrated-LED fixtures state “No assembly required” and are ready to mount out of the box.
Dimming ranges from full-range dimmable controls to 3-way switching and simple on/off. Cordless or rechargeable sconces may also offer selectable color temperatures (examples include warm, daylight, and cool/white modes).
