Magnet swivel not strong enough to hold it in position

the light attaches to the base with a magnet. If you attach the base to the wall, the light will not stay in position, it slowly falls into the wall.

don’t buy this. the lights are too heavy to support themselves in the position pictured. They just flop down. I ordered 2 and one was a little better than the other but neither will stay supported in the position they are advertised in. Also one of mine has scratches on it telling me it was already returned. Terrible. Going back immediately.

This is the cutest sconce! It’s so cool that it is cordless and it holds a good charge. My daughter and I read for hours most nights and just charge it every few days. The light can be removed so you could use it as a portable night light. It’s pretty bright (it had the ability to dim as well). The gold color is pretty too.

The lamp slowly moves out of position after you try to set it. Great idea, not great execution.

The Dean Wall Sconce by Room Essentials is a beautiful and versatile accent light, with many uses. The sconce is compact and positional with a magnetic ball mount. It was simple to install w just the included screw and anchor. The light is rechargeable with included USB cord. I use this above my bed for reading. The light has adjustable brightness and tone, by remote control, also included. My favorite feature is that I can disconnect and carry this sconce, independent of the wall mount. Only one con, the ball mount is magnetic, but not strong enough to hold the light in desired position; it droops until it is touching the wall. Otherwise, an attractive and thoughtful design for adding an accent light anywhere, without having to hardwire.

Looks nice but doesn’t stay in place. The magnet connecting the light to the base is too weak, so it slowly tilts downward no matter how I position it. Disappointing since the design is great otherwise.

This is a very good lighting option if you’re looking for something practical. The adhesive that comes in the package is very strong, so it will stay securely attached to the wall. However, for that same reason, I recommend being careful when removing it I bought two of them. If there’s something that could be improved, it would be the remote control system — each one comes with its own remote, but when you try to turn one off, the other one turns on.

This is such an awesome idea for adding a sconce anywhere without having to hardwire. The base attaches with simple screws. The light is magnetic and pops off the base so that you can easily charge it. It swivels so you can point the light whichever direction. There is also a remote so you don’t have to climb to turn it on and off. Really a great product. The only complaint could be that the battery states 15 hours so depending on when and where you use it, you may have to charge frequently.

I think I will review this from a product design perspective and say "Needs Improvement." I am in complete agreement with the other review that's currently up. The product looks nice, and it has great features for the price (cordless, remote-control and touch activated, adjustable positioning, non-mounted installation). Even the metal was unscratched when I unboxed it. It's just what I was looking for to use as reading lamp next to my headboard. HOWEVER, the magnet (that connects the base and the sconce) is too weak to support the weight of the sconce. You can try to adjust it's position to be at an angle or point in a specific direction, but it will not stay that way. It just slowly falls rotates/falls until the light is pointing downward. It's almost comical. Even though it looks nice and has good features, the inability to position it the way you want makes all those things lose their appeal - since you can't really use them fully if you can't even get the light to point where you want it to go. If the magnet between the wall mount and the sconce were stronger, this would be an excellent product. And a smaller nit-pick: the instruction booklet does not have subheading to indicate which instruction set is for wall-mounting installation and which is for non-mounted installation. I had to figure this out myself by looking at the pictures. Additionally, there are typos in the instructions. But, hey, it's a $20 Room Essentials product, so you get what they give.

Initial item description isn't correct. It isn't a 'sconce'. It is gold in color. It is a single battery light that can hang or stick on the wall. It also includes a remote control. I'd recommend this item to a friend.

Pretty but Magnet is Too Weak I really like the look of this sconce — the finish is beautiful and the style is perfect for my space! Love that it is chargeable and can basically install this anywhere with no outlet. Unfortunately, the magnet that holds the light in place isn’t strong enough to keep it perfectly straight. The weight of the light makes it droop slightly, which is noticeable once it’s on the wall. If the magnet were stronger, this would be a five star light.
