@rootsoutwest #MIDWESTMOMSREAD Recap 5- The 4th Law - sharing some takeaways tonight from this section of #AtomicHabits along with raising_reuschel & nestled.together. This section was all about making the habit you’re forming satisfying. Creating instant gratification. Feeling immediately successful is what keeps us sticking to the habit. I’ve mentioned it before, but I’m pairing time on the elliptical with watching Netflix. As a toddler mom I rarely get to watch anything I want to watch, but during my time on the elliptical I watch whatever I want to on Netflix. And I’ve come to look forward to that time so I can catch up on my show. First it was Emily in Paris & now this week I’m watching Firefly Lane (both so good!) This has turned my new daily habit on the elliptical into something satisfying & enjoyable. Another takeaway I loved was about how to recover when you break the habit. Perfection isn’t possible & life happens. So, when you miss your habit, don’t do it twice in a row. A first time is a mistake but when you skip twice, you risk a spiral of these repeated mistakes. 📚We only have one more section to read & post on! 🤯 Have you been following along & reading?
