@storylineinteriors Adding some small white pumpkins is a great and easy way to bring in the Fall. I went out and cut some branches from the yard and incorporated some dried millet on the mantle.
Here’s some fun history on our fireplace - Before we purchased our home four years ago we wrote a letter to the owners son (His mom had just passed away at 95). We wanted to express our love of the home and how we wanted to restore it back to its original beauty.
The owner, Ruth had a beautiful story written on these walls. She took in newborn babies, which came from drug addicted moms - cared for, nursed them back to health and loved them in this home. She had an beautiful heart. We told her son we were going to do a full renovation and yet we wanted to honor her and keep some of the original beautiful features of the home.
One of those was the fireplace. At first, I must say that I thought about painting/lime washing it and after giving it time to mull over, I realized I loved the character, warmth, charm and story it told. I haven’t regretted it at all.
