@skin.telligent A milky #watershotwednesday with the beautiful cocokind oil-to-milk cleanser 🥛🤍 Full disclosure- I planned to post this today, figuring I’d have a fully-formed review by now. But though I’ve been enjoying using it, I’m torn on how it best fits into my routine. Before buying, I assumed it was a cleansing balm/oil to be used as a first cleanse. But really, it can function as either an oil cleanse OR a second cleanse! I explain the two methods below, based on my own experience as well as Cocokind’s founder’s explanation. But first, some thoughts on the product overall! I love the focus on a healthy skin barrier / microbiome through probiotics. The bottle is on the small side ($18 for 2.9 oz) and you need to use a good dollop of product. I know Cocokind is working on a larger size bottle, though. Secondly, the scent is a bit offputting- it smells like paint 🤷🏼‍♀️ My boyfriend pointed it out and now I can’t unsmell it. It’s not a deal breaker to me, but important to note. If you’ve tried this cleanser, what are your thoughts? And what’s your favorite way to use it? 🤗 💫 Option 1: apply dry to the skin like a cleansing balm and massage to break down makeup and oils. Then, add water slowly and massage to emulsify. With this option, makeup dissolves easily but you do need a good squeeze of the product to make this transformation happen. It doesn’t emulsify as cleanly as some other balms- doesn’t really even get too “milky” this way. It does leave a bit of a film/residue like many cleansing oils, so it should be followed by a standard water based cleanser. 💫 Option 2: oil-to-milk standard cleanser as a gentle second or AM cleanse. I may prefer this method especially in the morning! The only downside is when the oil turns to milk, it does so VERY quickly. That means that you don’t have long to transfer it to your face and a good amount slips through your fingers in the process. But once there, it’s nice and frothy, and can even help remove makeup. So if I needed to use one product for a first AND second cleanse while traveling, this would be perfect! 🤍 Who will love this? Those that love a gentle milky cleanse or newbies to double cleansing that want a 2-in-1 option.
