Q: Does this have a shelf life? If I don't use it within a year or two will it still work when needed?

A: Thank you for reaching out. ANSI/UL standards say a fire extinguisher must stay pressurized for at least two years. Tundra™ Fire Extinguishing Spray has a three-year Performance shelf life, which is printed on the can. We chose a very conservative time frame because this is a life safety device, and the unit does not have an indicating gauge to tell the user if it is pressurized. The unit may last for five years or more.

This fire extinguisher is good for under five years. Its expiration is Dec., 2027. I have previously bought home use extinguishers which were good for ten years.

My grandmother, 84 years old, needed to use this when her oven caught on fire from grease. She claimed she would never need this when we bought it for her but we are so lucky she had it in the house. As soon as she saw the fire she was able to quickly figure out how to use the spray and put out the fire completely, using almost the entire can. Compared to a fire extinguisher this is a much easier option to figure out under stress and we will always keep a couple cans on hand from now on! Thank you First Alert!

I equipped my kitchen with the First Alert EZ Fire Spray because I have limited space and it would fit easily on a shelf. The dreaded event occurred, I set a plate with paper towel on it too close to an active burner. Before I knew it, my fries were getting extra crispy in the fiery plate. I grabbed the EZ Fire Spray and within seconds it had put out the flames! I am so thankful that it was there when I needed it and cleaning up was easier than I ever would have thought.

This Fire Spray can be used on Grease, Fabric, in Trash Cans or Small Electrical Fires. I like how it's an aerosol can - so all you do is press and spray at the fire. This is intended for small fires only. The clean-up is safe and easy to do no special clean-up equipment or supplies. These little cans keep for up to 5 years before they expire. I like that First Alert keeps coming up with innovative products.

It is very lightweight and will store easy. I hope that we don’t have to use it anytime soon but I highly recommend everyone having something like this on hand in case of an emergency. If you don’t already have the first alert EZ fire extinguisher spray again I highly recommend everyone having this. Also, teach the kids how to use something like this for id there is ever an emergency situation they are fully prepared as well.

I can keep it securely in the map pocket of the front door for easy access in any situation. I love that since of being covered in the case of a emergency. We will be able to camp and have campfires and still feel the safety factor is covered. I may opt to purchase more since it is so easy to store without really utilizing any of our needed space in such a small area.

The small size is perfect to have it stored under the sink while not taking up too much space and being right where you need it. The directions are easy to follow which is always a plus. I also appreciate that it is very easy to tell what it is based on colors and design so there should no confusing it for another type of aerosol spray. I also like that is able to be used on various kinds of fires so you don't need to have multiple fire extinguishers in room.

It is very comforting to have on hand should the need arise. It will be much easier and faster to get to than a traditional fire extinguisher. My only issue is the coloring of the can. The spray can is also the same size, shape, and color nonstick cooking sprays found in most kitchens. Perhaps if it were all red with a large picture of flames it would be easier to quickly identify in an emergency.

Primarily with the fire pit. I tried it the other day and was very grateful that it did the job! After all, I don't want to hang around outside until I'm positive the fire burns itself out naturally. Or use water which makes soggy mess! I will be buying a can for each room in my house. It brings me great comfort to know that it's so easy to use. The company, First Alert, is the brand I use for my smoke alarms and I trusted that this would be equal to their quality . It is indeed.

It's so easy to use, anyone can do it. I'm sure it's easier for a kid to learn than a normal fire extinguisher. It fits anywhere in your kitchen, boat, garage, etc. Obviously don't store next to your oil spray can and confuse the two. I feel so safe having this in my house. It's biodegradable so it's going to be way easier to clean! Never thought I'd be so excited to try a fire extinguisher before. It's so light weight as well. I have bad hands so this is better for me to use.

Thankfully I haven't had the need to use it but it gives me the peace of mind having it handy just in case. I feel like it will be a quicker solution to a fire instead of a normal fire extinguisher. I cook on a gas stove so you never know when a flare up will happen with hot grease so I keep it off to the side of my oven but far enough away so that it does not come into contact with the heat coming from the burners.

I tested this spray out on a contained paper fire that I started and it killed the fire within seconds. The can also says that it's ideal for electrical and grease fires too. However, I'm a bit more scared of starting any of those two kinds of fires so I'll just take their word for it. Very easy to use. Very useful in the kitchen and even to have in your car. Definitely would recommend. Better to be prepared than not.

This could not be any easier to use, just point and spray like you would any aerosol can. You can use in your house, in the garage, in a shed, etc. Mine is under the sink in the kitchen (with latched cabinets to keep the kids out). It has a long lasting expiration, is small but not too small to get the job done, and has the quality of First Alert! I'll be purchasing additional for my home and for other family members.

It's really like spraying a can of air freshener so simple and got the job done. It didn't take much at all to put the tiny fire we made to test it out. Definitely would recommend a can of this in homes, cars, classrooms, the workplace and many other places. The foam didn't have a bad smell either. I also would like to note that the extinguisher is very easy to hold. And the foam shot out perfectly.

We've always had a fire extinguisher under the sink in the kitchen, but it's not close enough for peace of mind. This spray is much smaller and more discreet, so it can go in the small cabinet near the fire place for super easy access! I would suggest it for all homes in all rooms honestly! Having this within arms reach is crucial for safety when using candles, fireplaces, and more! It also seems much easier to use than a fire extinguisher. Younger teens may not know how to pull the tab to get the extinguisher going. This is great for easy and quick fire safety!
