Q: stupid question, but after your done recording the tape thing can you take the cassette out, (keep in mind I've never used or even seen one of these things until four months ago so I have no idea)
A: Yes, the tape can be removed.

Q: Will this unit play music in stereo, if I plug headphones into it? Also, will this unit record to tape in stereo, if I send a stereo signal to it through the line-in jack?

Q: When you plug in a different device into the input jack while recording, does the internal microphone pick up on background noise, or talking?
