VENUS Womens Cowl Neck Slip Dress

I really like this dress, it looks nice, the fabric is thick enough that I can wear it in the heat in South Florida and not feel like the satin is sticking to me. Per the reviews I sized up (usually wear an 8 and got a 10), and that size barely fits.

I read the reviews and ordered up in size (16) this made all the difference in the world, I'm 5'4", 165 and a 36 DDD. Loved the style fit and comfort. I felt like a queen. Dress up or down, throw on a blazer or cardigan and it is work appropriate.

This dress would probably fit somebody who is a size 6 at the most, so an extra large should have been much larger.

I ordered this dress, for my nieces wedding. I tried it on, but did not wear it, till the wedding. When we sat down, for the dinner, I was informed, my back zipper was down. It wasn't down, it had pulled completely apart (the dress was not tight at all). I loved the look of the dress, and this is the first problem I've ever had, from a piece of clothing from Venus. I just wish there was an exception for return/exchange.

Wow! This fit and dress pattern - just stunning! The only feeling I can think of comes close is the feeling you probably get when you first put on a wedding dress that just is a "Yes to the dress," feeling where you feel a rush of emotions. When I first put this on, then turned and looked in the mirror, I got the rare feeling of feeling like a "total 10" ( I am a senior, and I had lost a lot of weight over four years). I am fair completed and somewhere between gray and medium blond hair, blue-violet eyes. The colors in this pattern I feel just couldn't be more matched to my features. The pattern could fit with a Hawai'ian theme event, garden wedding, bridesmaid dresses, christening, church event, symphony, opera, live theatre event, date night, or going out to an upscale dinner somewhere, or a "go meet your BF or GF's parents / family for the first time, etc. This dress is more than a head-turner… it is a "seals the deal" type stunning dress. Now I am excited to go buy new heels to go with it. I have an entertainment industry movie premier to go to next week with a reception. Going easy on jewelry. Seems about a 20" simple necklace would work best, simple bracelet, maybe diamond / zircon dangle french hook earrings. Metal-wise: rose gold I liked best, but gold also works. Yet silver also works because of the light blue in the dress. This dress is a "classic investment dress." By the way - back zipper pulled up very easily. Since fabric has some stretch, I could very easily wrap my arm to the back and pull up zipper all the way up. I didn't wash it yet, so I hope it goes well.

Bought this for an upcoming vacation and I can't wait to wear! So flattering. My most typical size is an 8 but I ordered a 12 based on the Venus size chart. So glad I sized up!

I don't usually review items but I took the time to do this one. It's a beautiful dress but it does run small. The fabric and design are classy. I typically wear a 14 and I ordered a 16 based on reviews. It was too small. Order up ladies!

My size is always a medium and an 8. I'm 5'5 and 150. I have a little tummy, so it's a little tight. I'm going to return and order a size 10

This dress runs small so I would recommend ordering a size larger. It is a great dress. I never thought I would like this style or the fabric. It is really very stunning. I ordered 2 other colors. Fabulous!

I love the dress design and fit. I have an athletic build with a rather large chest. It fits great all over. I liked the design so much from the patterned fabric I returned to buy it in blue and black since the price was so good. The negative side is the fabric. It is man made and doesn't breathe well so need to wear it where there is AC! It also requires some heavy ironing with steam to get the wrinkles out after the first wash. When it arrives the folds from being in the package does not go away with washing.

This is such a lovely slip dress for the price. It does run small (I ordered a 4) and returned it for the 6. The lavender color is especially beautiful. Shapes the body beautifully without being too "clingy." Very versatile — can wear it with flip flops for a causal look or with a heeled strappy sandal for a more formal occasion. Have worn it out to lunch and to a wedding as well. I'm petite (5'3", 125lbs.) and a bit busty if this helps with your size selection.

The material was terrible; cheap, thin and looks / feels like something you would return or toss (bought from Temu or Shein). Venus fell short on this one. Hopefully the other colors are better quality materials. I got the multi colored Peach looking fabric, which doesn't look like the picture. Insults to injury, I had to pay $6.95 to return it. I usually have better luck with Venus clothing; just not this time.
