Learning Resources Time Tracker 2.0

I'm a preschool teacher, and I use this to help the kids know when it's time to clean up. It is a great visual and also makes a sound for those on the far end who can't see it.

Purchased for helping with transitions and it is working great. My son even turns it on himself now. Buying a second one as back up

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Like it gives kids a visual how long their nap time should last. Wish it would plug in because after one week batteries are dead. Would be nice if it displayed the time large so the kids could get used to recognizing that as well.

This may be called a Classroom Timer but we got it to use at home, and it has ENDLESS uses. Most importantly - in my opinion - is getting my 4 year old to brush his teeth for the full 2 minutes! But we've also used it for sports games in the garden, 'can we tidy all the toys away in under 2/3/4/5 minutes', for seeing how many of something we can do in an amount of time, and more. It's even been a traffic light system when playing cars! It's teaching an understanding of time in a way that he can really understand (he's 4, nearly 5). Plus it's fun! He loves the "flashing lights" traffic lights system. Once you've read the instructions it's pretty simple to set up and to use. Pictured is using the Time Tracker to play 'What can I build in a minute?' with building blocks. Highly recommended.

During lockdown, I have felt that my son is gradually having more and more screen time, so this Time Tracker is great for letting him know when he has to put everything down, and take a break. It is easy to use, and also features an alarm sound when his time is up. You can use this for lots of different activities, and in the summer we plan to use it for our own 'Sports day' ! It seems very durable (my youngest has already dropped it about 6 times and it's completely fine!). I like the fact that it has an amber light, unlike other timers, so my son knows he has to start to get ready to stop what he's doing in plenty of time, instead of an abrupt end. I have seen other people have also used this as a 'getting ready for bed' timer, which I think is a great idea and will be trying very soon. It has a large display that is easy to read and at the moment, seems good on battery consumption. Overall this is a great Time Tracker and does exactly what I need it to do.

I love this timer. It helps me keep to my schedule and the kids love it too. The different lights help the kids know when we are transitioning and it gives them a warning that change is coming.

This timer had some bad reviews but it really is great. It makes transitions during Guided Reading time efficient and perfect. I suspect that many of the negative reviews about it breaking are because people are not clear on best way to care for it. The timer is a bit fragile and takes a low voltage adapter or AAA batteries. If you are rough or use too high of a power source it can break like some reviews say, However, Learning Resources has wonderful customer service that is super helpful and accommodating. I wish it was a bit more durable, but it is so awesome for the time saving it provides in a tight schedule that it is well worth it.

Use as a timing light for Toastmasters. Works well, aside from having to reset if it comes unplugged even with the batteries in.

So far this has been a great product. We use this product several times a day as part of our homeschool, for teeth brushing, reading, chores and so much more. It's easy to set and I love the versatility of the timing options. Not that we would need to set a timer for 1-2 seconds, but if we did it will definitely to that no problem at all.

So far so good with this timer. We use it for sooo many different things around the house. Homeschooling, TV/screen time, clean up time etc. Was a bit confusing to figure out at first but once we familiarized ourselves with it we haven't had any problems!

I really like the idea of this timer but am disappointed by the fact that its not easy to set and that in one school year I have gone through 2! Don't waste your money on this timer and try another brand!

Great tool, but the screen is always black unless you press a button. It's hard to read, and you can't see the timer count down. Also hard to set the time.

Unfortunately, the lights (the reason I purchased this device) are not working. I'll contact the manufacturer and hope for the best. Having been involved with the electronics industry somewhat, I cannot understand why such a simple concept as a this device is having the issues it seems to have, based upon the reviews I've read. How these people respond will be an indicator to me of the quality and integrity of the this company. An announcement of improvements on this page would also be welcome. I'm a teacher and know many teachers; it would be nice to have this company as a resource for me and for them. Get a clue, my friends.

We received as a gift on Christmas, purchased from Young Explorers. At first, we used it to signal how much time toddler had left before transition to next activity. Then, we used it for potty training and had the timer set for every 30 minutes. We were using it constantly for a month before we had to change the batteries. Then a couple of weeks later, it seemed to malfunction again (a signal we thought was time for another battery change). The digital display disappeared and the green and yellow lights remained on, and replacing thet batteries did not fix the problem. I really liked the timer when it worked, but now I'm hoping that there's a similar product out there that's more durable.

This is a terrible timer. It is hard to use and the menu, start and enter buttons all have to be pushed really hard to get them to even work. I spend more time trying to change the settings than actually getting the timer to work. Very disappointing as I cannot use it in my classroom.

I am very disappointed with this product. The buttons are either not working or too sensitive and you pass by the time you want to set and then have to start the programming over. It would have been so easy to put a simple timer set button and then a start time button but no! You have to go through many steps of programming each time you want to set a new time. Even to simply start the already programmed time you have to push a series of buttons! So annoying! And to remember the right sequence, it is not easy.... definitely not worth the price.

I was using this in a high school classroom, 1/2 of the day. After a few days it stopped working. I switched from batteries to an adapter and it still doesn't work. The only thing that comes up on the screen are 3 digital lines between 1-3 inches long.

We have a son with Aspergers and a daughter who is home schooled and was excited to get the item and the sound did not work out of the gate. Even after resetting it and adjusting the volume it just does not work. For our daughter it would have been perfect for her when she is not paying attention to the light we have the sound backup. Welp, that did not work so I am quite disappointed. The other reviews on the item and having issues is spot on. Guess I should have researched more.

We bought this timer as a visual reminder for meetings so time didn't pass by, there was a visual reminder which has sounds to notify the changing of sections. Although there is a volume switch we have always used the Time Tracker with the volume on. We have since found a hundred other uses for it. We have timed dinner with it, got ready to go out and even homework. The timer sections can be used for a few seconds or for an hour the options are endless and although getting the correct combination to get into the menu and setting it up can be tricky to start with after a few uses you soon pick it up. We use the Time Tracker as a fantastic visual behaviour monitor.
