Q: Can u make homemade soups

Q: Can I just steam carrots and broccoli only?

Q: can I make jasmine and stciky rice in this?

Q: If you want a full meal od rice, vegies and fish, you placce all in at once and turn on?
A: Hello, Thank you for reaching out to us. Yes you can cook rice and steam as well. In our manual it does go over cooking times for various meat and vegetables. As they may not take as long to cook as the rice you may have to remove the steam tray prior to the rice ending. Q: are the components in this unit BPA free? I'm looking at one from Aroma (rice and grain cooker) and it indicates BPA free. it's comparable otherwise.. thank you

Q: Is the rice cooker pot made of plastice?

The inner cooking pot is made of aluminum with a nonstick coating as well the steam tray is made of aluminum there are no plastics on the unit other than the handles and levers. Q: If I wanted to steam vegetables without making rice, can I just add water to the rice area?
A: Hello, Thank you for contacting Aroma Housewares. Yes, you would add 2-3 cups of water using the cup provided to the nonstick cooking pot. Then push the button to cook. As it is an analog unit, once it comes to a boil and starts steaming you would manual set a timer and shut the unit off once done steaming. Q: The description says 2 - 20 cups. Can you only cook 1 cup dry rice?

Q: my old rice cooker had a button to cook the rice which automatically shut off once it was cooked does this one automatically shut off or do we need to be checking it to know when its ready to turn off?
A: The rice cooker will automatically switch to "keep warm" when the rice is done cooking. To turn off the cooker completely, the unit needs to be unplugged from the outlet. Q: is the steamer container made of metal or plastic? i see both in the pictures.
