Enjoyable Contemporary Christian Romance
5 out of 5 stars

Penelope Hunter and Tucker Westbrooke have been best friends all of their lives and they've always trusted that the other would be there. And then...their efforts to disprove rumors about Tucker's family leads them into unknown waters and dangerous territory and suddenly, their friendship turns into something much deeper. Their affectionate quick hugs become pulse-altering, heart-racing embraces and their pecks on the cheek seem no longer enough! Has their relationship changed to 'always being there, as in marriage", or will their search for answers drive them apart?
A Dazzle of Diamonds is wonderfully romantic and there is also an intriguing mystery woven throughout the story. I especially enjoyed the entries from a diary and letters written during the Civil War that shed light on the activities of Tucker's family during that time. These records of a secret romance certainly add interest to PJ and Tucker's current emotions and the details about the treasure are totally surprising!
Author Liz Johnson has created some wonderful characters for A Dazzle of Diamonds, the third book of her Georgia Coast Romance series. PJ and Tucker experience both spiritual growth and emotional maturity and Tucker's Aunt Shirley is truly a "gem" as she offers her wisdom and guidance. "Ask God to show you his plan. It'll be better than any plan you could make."
If you are looking for a book that causes you to think, makes you feel good, and leaves you smiling, then this contemporary Christian romance is the book for you!

Endearing and sweetly romantic

A Dazzle of Diamonds, by Liz Johnson, is the third book in the Georgia Coast Romance series. With moments of gentle romance, a twist of mystery, and engaging glimpses into the past, this novel is thoroughly enjoyable and satisfying. An intriguing treasure hunt, likable characters, and unique plot points make this book truly memorable and entertaining from the first page to the last.
With a plot that cleverly blends events of the present with clues from the past, this novel tells two captivating stories of love, courage, and second chances. The plot of this novel is well-paced, inviting, and fully immerses the reader in the thoughts, feelings, and motivations of the characters themselves. These characters prove to be relatable, likable, and interesting. As they encounter unexpected possibilities and fresh perspectives, they certainly make the story sparkle. Because they have genuine insecurities and fears that affect their judgments and choices, they find they must turn away from shame and rejection to embrace healing and wholeness instead. Like rays of light shimmering on precious gems, the themes of healing, forgiveness, faith, perseverance, and generosity combine together to illuminate a relatable story that is full of heart.
A Dazzle of Diamonds easily held my attention from beginning to end. It is well-written, thought-provoking, endearing, and sweetly romantic. It is a book I wholeheartedly recommend to all readers who enjoy clean, contemporary romantic fiction.

Penelope loves her event planning job, and her best friend, Tucker, well not love love—at least she hadn’t thought so. What she really wants is to do is help Tucker get elected as sheriff. In order to do that, she will pretend to date her best friend, while she looks for a treasure that has been missing for over 150 years.
She also tries to clear Tucker's name in a campaign that turns dirty, and had her job threatened because of it. In the midst of all that, her latest wedding planning clients turn out to be her former fiancé, who left her at the altar, along with his new girlfriend.
I really liked this book. It had a lot of depth and pleasantly surprised me with all the twists and turns it took. Problems of not measuring up and parental rejection provided a touch of realism to this modern-day story.
The mystery part about the treasure kept me guessing, and, the 19th century intrigue added to this clean tale told from a Christian viewpoint. I recommend this 5-star book to lovers of mystery with added romance.
Revell Publishing has provided Tickmenot with a complimentary copy of, A Dazzle of Diamonds, for the purpose of review. Opinions are my own.

I am addicted to Penelope and Tucker. They were so much fun to get to know. I loved their relationship and how they cared about each other. I wish I would have had a friend like either of them growing up. From the very first page I was hooked. It was nearly impossible for me to stop reading. Liz Johnson enchanted me with tales of Savannah and the mysterious history surrounding the area. Missing treasure, thieves, ancient diary entries, and secret hiding places had me dreaming of what might have been. I loved every minute of this story, and can’t wait to see what Johnson does next. She has a habit of taking my breath away, and causing me to highlight quotes to swoon over again later. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys either modern romance or historical romance. This book has a bit of both, and I couldn’t get enough of it. I received a copy of this book from the publisher and was in no way forced to post a review. All opinions expressed are completely my own.

This is my new favorite book by Liz Johnson. I was fascinated by Caroline’s story, and I enjoyed watching Penelope and Tucker’s relationship grow and change. I highly recommend this whole series.
A Cute Romance

A Dazzle of Diamonds by Liz Johnson is the third book in her Georgia Coast Romance series. Best friends Penelope and Tucker must clear his families name before the up-coming election. What happens next takes everybody by surprise. They’ve been best friends since childhood, can their friendship develop into something more? This story was mostly a romance with a little bit of a mystery thrown in. There was quite a bit of kissing. But, on the whole I enjoyed the story very much. Honesty is still the best policy and I think the author got the point across very well. I grew up in the South, so it was very refreshing to see all the southern charm that was woven into this book.
I received this book from the publisher for my honest review.
A New Favorite

Liz Johnson has “hit the mother lode” with the newest and last book in her Georgia Coast Romance series, A Dazzle of Diamonds. Beautiful diamonds are created under pressure. The main characters find themselves under all kinds of pressure, but God uses their circumstances to create brilliant images of what His love and plan can do in our lives.
A man’s heart plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps. Proverbs 16:9
I love how this story illustrated this verse.
A Dazzle of Diamonds is a new favorite Liz Johnson book. She grabbed me with the first line (“Penelope Jean Hunter loved every wedding she’d ever been to. Except her own.” ) and kept me smiling all the way to the very last swoony line (which you can read yourself). This friends-to-more story has all the humor, fun, heartache, and romance you’ve come to expect from Liz Johnson, but there’s just something a little extra about Penelope and Tucker and how God changed their plans and brought them to find what was right in front of them all along - each other. I loved it!!
The addition of letters and a diary from times past adds a bit of intrigue and more romance to the story.
This book could be read as a stand-alone because getting the full story does not depend on having read the previous two books. However, you will definitely want to read those as well.
I received an ARC from the publisher. All opinions are my own.
Enchanting tale of lost treasure, finding worth

"Perhaps love means facing the hardships together. For life is not easy, and he has a terrible burden to bear. I wish to help him carry it. I wish to help him make peace and see him returned to the fullness of joy."
Such a delightful and enchanting story of lost treasure, finding faith and love during the lowest of times, and rallying for the downtrodden. Liz Johnson has a way of creating romantic and breath-taking backdrops and plots filled with quirky, memorable, and down-to-earth characters attempting to heal from brokenness. This is book 3 in the Georgia Coast Romance series set in Savannah, GA but can be read as a stand-alone. If you enjoy well-written contemporary romance, this book will enthrall you. It really does dazzle like diamonds!
There is another diary and letters that are involved in this plot. This time the diary and letters belong to Tucker's ancestors from the Civil War era that could possibly lead him to find a lost treasure to help fund his run for county sheriff and also clear his family's name that has been smeared. Tucker is smart, loyal, compassionate, and driven but suffers from poor self-image and feels that he always has to prove himself to be worthy. Penelope is a fun, joyful, vivacious woman who thrives on lists and organization but she, too, has suffered a blow to her heart and ego when her ex-fiance left her at the altar. Tucker and Penelope (PJ) have been best friends forever and it takes this dive into the past to salvage the future that brings them together. Their friendship and love for each other is so genuine and their romance, despite hiccups and naysayers, is incredibly sweet. I really appreciated that their relationship wasn't the typical one best friend carrying the torch for the other but they gradually realized each other's potential as more than friends. As much as I loved Tucker and Penelope, Tucker's aunt Shirley totally stole the show. Her maturity, knowledge of family history, unconditional love, and sage advice brought the plot and characters together seamlessly. There is forgiveness, reconciliation, letting go of fear, and finding true worth embedded into each character and subplot. This book is a must-read for your summer!
I received a copy of the book from Revell/Baker Publishing Group and was under no obligation to post a positive review. All comments and opinions are solely my own.
A Dazzling Story

This series just outdone itself as I loved this. Penelope grabbed me from the first page and I became invested in her life. With southern charm this book will worm its way into you heart from the characters to the plot to the seamless flow of the story that Ms. Johnson is an expert at. I loved how the diary and letters from 1864 are woven in flawlessly and that the print changes so you know you are reading Caroline’s story. This book has a mystery to solve and a treasure to find as well as awakening romance and a hero in Tucker that melts you into a puddle of happiness. It’s like getting a present all tied up with the perfect bow. You can’t go wrong with A Dazzle of Diamonds as it will dazzle you into wanting more.

"The adventure is in the unknown. God has amazing things in store for you, but if you knew what they were, you'd miss out on the anticipation of discovering them."
Penelope Jean Hunter spends her entire life planning significant events for other people, but when it comes to her own . . . they all fell apart three years ago. After the person responsible for those terribly thwarted plans shows up in her office with his new fiance, she and her best friend Tucker Westbrook come up with a startling anecdote for despondency; a clever romantic charade. Except, that pretend- dating Tucker just might be better than real-dating anyone else. If only there wasn't a local election, Tucker's reputation, and a lost treasure involved. . . . it's complicated.
This story has just enough charm to be believable; the romance is sweet, the side story . . . well, it fringes on being far-fetched, but the characters are so perfectly matched with the plot that the reader really won't care . . . what they will care about is why it's taking Penelope and Tucker so long to see what is right before their very eyes . . . dazzling diamonds or not.
I received a copy of this book from the author and publisher. The opinions stated above are entirely my own.
