Although it looks nice. It is not designed for very large and cannot handle thick breads. I tried to make a panini with focaccia bread and this press couldn't handle it. I had to manually hold down the top and bottom edges with my fingers, which I was surprised that you could do without getting them burned. Just don't touch the top! Because of this design, the latch on the lid was unable to reach the locking mechanism on the bottom half. I'll try it with thinner breads and I'm sure that it will work better. I'll have to invest in a bigger press going forward.
