60" Churchwell Ceiling Fan with LED Light Bronze - Hunter Fan: Reversible Motor, ETL Listed

I've bought and installed half a dozen Hunter fans in my life without issue. Took a chance on the Churchwell since it was on clearance and I ran into what I've read across dozens of reviews that over the years Hunter has slipped on quality. My fan has an issue where the motor assembly is not centered directly under the cutout so one side of the blades has a large gap to the housing while the other side literally grinded as soon as I turned it on like nails on chalkboard. See attached pics. I disassembled everything and checked the mounting bracket was level and downrod 90 degrees w the ceiling. Upon reassembly the issue persisted. This is a manufacturing defect that SHOULD have been caught by QC - terrible job QC #3 whoever you are. Convenient for Hunter, any fan sold clearance isnt returnable so I spent over 2 hours with a dremel machining down the cutout for the fan blades until they could spin on high without grinding metal. Hunter Customer Service may come on and pose some formal apology but I serve in Quality myself and would be mortified if a customer ended up with a product like this and I'd signed off on it. 90% of customers wouldn't know how to fix it or have the tools to and they'd be out of luck. Shame on you and I'll find other brands to buy in the future. Clean up your act.

This fan is visually appealing. Looks very high quality but the motor is noisy. The motor has a loud hum to it and the motor its self seems unbalanced. It has a pulsating humming noise which has been annoying to sleep with. Luckily white noise on my phone drowns it out. If your hanging it in the living room I think you’ll be fine but the noise good be bothersome in your bedroom.

Great fan and light. Bought the remote and 4’ down rod, too, which makes it easy to use with 18 foot ceilings. Quiet and powerful.

Beautiful fan for my primary bedroom. Great size, no noise. Always check where your walls are at in conjunction with your fan width, any smaller and the fan would be disproportionate to the room.

This fan gives off an insane amount of light, the fan works like a charm, and SUPER easy to install. Highly recommended!

Nice fan, quite, move air. Prefer the pull chain so I can still use my lutron caseta switches and phone app. Easy to install just like other hunter fan, even on a 20' ceiling.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Ceiling fan is great! I replaced an older fan in my living room with this. My room has a 13 foot tall, vaulted ceiling, so I did have to use a 36" Downrod. However, to my surprise, the included mounting hardware supported the pitch and angle of my ceiling. The installation was really straight forward, aside from the height! Directions were very clear and easy to follow. The air flow of this is surprising! My old fan was a 52" and stepping it up to 60" was a concern. However, knowing how well it works now, this room should have had a 60" from the beginning. One thing that really peaked my interest, was the shape of the top (ceiling side) of the blades. They are actually beveled. Almost like a Plane Propeller. I've only ever dealt with flat bladed fans, so this was interesting. You can definitely feel a difference in the amount of air that is being moved. The motor is silent, the only sound I hear is the blades cutting through the air, and this can be lessened, but not running the fan on High all the time.

Easy to install and beautiful. Quiet and powerful enough to cool a large room. Love this fan!

And my favorite thing about this is that it is easy to change the light bulbs. It keeps my living room cool and goes great in my living room. I have had the heat on and when I put the fan on, it brings the heat down! I have also had the air conditioning on, and when I turn the fan on, it brings the cold air down. This fan is very high quality. My husband had no trouble putting it up. We have cathedral ceilings, so we did purchase a longer down rod for it. It took him no more than an hour to hang, and that was with bringing the scaffolding in so he could reach. This is a nice farmhouse look with little modern elements. I love the weathered gray boards. Now I just need to repaint my living room and I’ll be all set!! Love, Love this fan!!

They lights are elegant looking and shine brightly enough for the room. The fan speed is high enough to cool off the room and has a light speed just to keep air circulating.

Easy to assemble and directions were very clear. I am absolutely amazed on how well this ceiling fan works on high even in 85 degree weather it kept the living area nice and cool and havent had to turn on our central air since I installed it. It has a nice modern stylish look that adds a nice touch to out living room and the led lights are bright and clear lighting up the whole area. I am very happy with this product!!
