Description
Our Magical Mystery Chimes feature a musical phenomenon known as Octave Doubling. Here's how it works you remember the Do-Re-Mi-Fa-So-La-Ti-Do scale from the Sound of Music? The "Do" notes that come at the start and end of this scale are the same note an octave apart. Notes separated by an octave are considered harmonically equivalent and "ring" together in a way that adds a pleasing sound to the music. Our Magical Mystery Chimes take this theory to the extreme all the notes of the wind chimes are matched with its "octave double." Never before used in windchimes this special tuning creates a heightening of the harmonics creating a song that must be heard to be believed.. . Our Butterfly's Farewell Chime mirrors the strikingly beautiful pentatonic melody at the climactic finale of Puccini's popular opera Madame Butterfly. Beautiful chimes to look at but I rarely ever hear them. The center piece to strike the chimes is so heavy due to it's size that the normal breezes don't get a sound out of this. I hung this 10 feet off the ground in an open area and only a good stiff wind gets it to work. The kind of wind that you don't sit outside and relax in. When other chimes in the yard are pinging away in the light breezes, this one stays silent. It is pretty to listen to, but mostly they are a silent decoration. By the way Gardners double boxed shipping was impeccable.

Disappointed w/packing. Wrote to company but no response. Strongly recommend looking at packing procedures. It was disappointing to see beautiful chimes mangled. I'd recommend chimes but not company.
