Child can not use without parent
The item itself is a cute concept, but your child can’t use it unless they use your phone which is SUPER inconvenient. I tried to get the app on my son’s tablet & they don’t have it.

Its a No.
Required you to select pronouns (including a they/them option) and wouldn’t let you skip past it. Also, as soon as we turned it on - it starts talking about the Roman Festival of Winter (a pagan ritual) - just not our cup of tea. Furthermore, it took forever for the stories to generate - several minutes.

Could be better, but 4 year old likes it
Has a lot of potential, but it was disappointing. Loved everything, however the stories are really short, like 2/3 minutes. Makes it hard when your child has just closed their eyes, but the story ends. Of course it wakes my son up and he has to squeeze an ear for a story. The mouth moves great and easy to work for kids. No problem pairing however the app is horrible! You also have to download the stories on to the bear it doesn’t talk. Also the bear is not saying my son’s name, but it does on the app. It’s got a lot of potential for sure, but really the negatives are that 1) stories too short 2) App is not user friendly. I also wouldn’t mind for traditional stories, not just made up ones. Regardless, my 4 year old loves it, it’s I would suggest it be more around $30 instead of $50, but overall I would buy it, but probably only if on sale. My son does love it though, so that makes it worth it as well.

Awesome toy for littles learning to talk!

They really enjoy the fact that it talks and interacts with them, which means it combines their two favorite kinds of toys-- plush and interactive. I think it's super cool that it can tell stories, but I am a little hesitant to use the app feature, as I do worry about the AI feature tracking my kids interests-- but it does still work pretty well all things considered! It helps my kids to practice knowing what to say to get certain responses, which is so great as they learn to talk.

I received product reimbursement in exchange for my honest review. It's the new Teddy Ruxpin! No cassette tapes necessary, this bear connects to an app on your phone or tablet. You drag and drop icons to create a story. This bear is not too big, it's a nice size to carry around comfortably. The inner workings are covered with lots of plush so it's squeezable and snuggable. Kids today will be so lucky to play with AI toys.

Unable to connect to my phone
The app is really great, but the bear itself despite good Bluetooth connection to my android phone (it was paired)- was still not recognizable by the app and as such- the app kept looping 'Waiting for Bear to pair'. The same story with another android phone. But I really like the app for its ability to generate and tell the stories.

Wonderful AI Bear
I received product reimbursement in exchange for my honest review. I was really impressed with the features of this AI bear. My son was super excited about it and greatly entertained by its amazing stories. I found the app very easy to use. This allows my son to choose the stories from the app as well. The stories that the bear told were very full of content. Another thing that I enjoyed was the fact that we could take it on trips and continue our entertainment in the car. I would recommend this wonderful children's toy as a great addition to any family.

Better than expected
I received product reimbursement in exchange for my honest review. The bear is much more like a stuffed animal than I expected- I was worried about chunky hardware in the belly that would make it heavy and awkward to treat as a stuffed animal but the bear is overall soft without hard parts being in the way. It's easy to set up with few steps explained on the included instructions- you will have to pair to a device to set up and create stories but can store certain amount of stories on the bear for "offline" enjoyment. There is a basic access included with the purchase but also additional content that can be purchased. Unfortunately, as of this review, the app is not available for kindle so my daughter has to access it on my phone- I am hoping it will become available soon for her fire. Another neat feature is the different languages- I speak three myself and my kids dabble in foreign languages so this would be a nice way to use for enhanced comprehension. Overall, this is a cute gift to combine technology and imagination - just bear in mind- no pun intended- the technology strings together stories based on the input from your child so you might get an odd story that is hard to follow- I assume that's something that will get better over time as more folks use the toy and developers receive input.

Kids today get a much improved version with Poe! I was shocked out easy it was to get this bear set up (you do need a phone app) and get it to tell us any story we could imagine. Princess who love cats and live in the radio? Done! Dragons who have pet dogs and like to laugh? No problem! Just select your choices and Poe makes them come to life. Age appropriate of course!
