Q: Why doesn't Megatron transform into the gun like the 40th anniversary movie did. He wasn't ever a tank in the first generation of Megatron. Doesn't seem not right to the 50 year old kid inside.

  • A: Due to legal regulations and Hasbro Policies. I know it sucks but it’s all about safety liabilities whereas they don’t want anyone mistaking it as a real gun. Also consider the fact that in the show he transforms into a Walther P38, a real life weapon, which can easily be mistaken for an actual gun.

  • A: If Takara Tomy decides to make one, you would have to get it imported and hope that it doesn't get held at customs. That is the only way we would get another gun mode Megatron. Their laws on this aren't the same as they are in the U.S.

  • A: Because Hasbro can't make any firearms that look realistic due to safety regulations, they can't encourage kids to hold guns, and if they get ahold of a real one, it's game over. Plus, he comes with a small gun version of him, which is size/cartoon accurate, so there is no reason to complain.

    Horrible Shipping Experience

    (This is more of a Target review) Target shipping is horrible. I sent the first figure back because the figure and package was crushed, the shipping box was not. So that means the purposely sent the figure in that condition. Then the replacement figure was damaged also. I will never order from them again. once I bought the figure from a better company however, the figure is very well built and is a nice display piece.

    He Truly is More Than Meets The Eye

    Unfortunately I wasn't able to get the original version of him before he got insanely expensive, but I was able to get this version of him without any of the preorder drama. The fact that his original alt mode in the cartoon/movie/OG toy is included as an accessory is an amazing touch (It's also cursed because Megatron can hold himself 💀). His alt mode is a tank instead of a gun because of legal stuff, but I preferred the tank over the gun (which is a hot take). His articulation is amazing. His fingers and shoulders have more points of articulation than most bots! He's pretty heavy around the shins/ankles which will help him stand up easily. In robot mode he's slightly taller than SS86 Astrotrain (he's overhated), slightly shorter than a standing banana, the exact height of a LEGO Bionicle figure and He makes TFOne Megatron look like a Minicon, which is expected for a Leader Class bot. If you're currently thinking about buying him for your kid (or yourself), GO FOR IT! ALL HAIL MEGATRON!!!

    One shall fall.

    Just like normal SS86, but has extra paint, is more accurate in the leg’s painting, and comes with an extra gun.

    Order never received. Target cancelled my order.

    I placed a preorder and was notified that order would be delayed. I went ahead and approved the delay 2 or 3 times. Then a few weeks later I get a notification that my order was cancelled. There seems to be a lot of Target customers that are dealing with the same issue as me. I’m not preordering Transformers from Target again. Boo, Target!

    I would've waited an eternity for this

    Don’t be dissuaded from buying this figure just because there’s a bunch of negative reviews. The people that are leaving negative reviews likely aren’t even in the age demographic for this product. And the ones that are should consider working for IGN

    Unecessary but cool!

    Hasbro being Hasbro said “let’s better fit the toon accurate color and get rid of those weird blue legs the original figure had except now he’s battle damaged!” Oh well, I still bought it and I think it’s cool. Completely unnecessary pick up but if you’re a fan of the 1986 movie, theres no harm in getting this to recreate iconic scene.
