Q: Do these plates show scratches from stainless utensils? I recently purchased matte stoneware from another vendor and returned as gray scratching was obvious aftr first use.

  • A: Hi JPM- Regarding ceramic dinnerware – a matte glaze tends to show flatware & utensil markings more often than a glossy glaze. The Avesta collection incorporates a more glossy finish that should help prevent flatware markings from appearing so easily. We cannot claim this product will prevent all flatware markings.     Bought 2 sets online, one came in in perfect condition, one had imperfections in the glaze for more than half of the items. Cant figure out if I can get them exchanged or partially refunded as I live over an hour away from the nearest store. If you dont mind playing roulette with quality, theyre great.     Comes pre-stained!

    I love the actual shape and look of these dishes, but almost every plate has a small greenish stain baked into it. Almost like you missed scrubbing off a piece of avocado. I’m shocked by the lack of quality control. SO disappointing.
