2-in-1 Hot Water Washable Allergy Protection Mattress Pad - AllerEase

It is not fully encasing the mattress. I thought a good product for allergens fully encases the mattress, but it doesn't. It has Velcro that keeps the top in place. The rest of the product is similar to a fitted sheet with elastic. I believe I misunderstood the diagram of some taking the topper off; it appears that they are using a zipper to remove the topper to launder it.

The name seems to me like it would serve two purposes while being one piece. It’s two pieces that Velcro’s together at the corners and becomes your worst sheet changing nightmare. Comes undone while attempting to put sheets on. Save your time and money and lay down cut up trash bags or plastic covers and lay egg crate on the sucker cause that’s all this deceptive sheet changing abomination is gonna be in the end….

Great design - looking forward to easily washing the upper pad with our wrestling with the entire cover.

Purchased this to protect our mattress and we spend MORE time taking the covers off to FIX the stupid velcro and realign the pad then we actually do enjoying it. It's noisy when you move in bed, you can hear the velcro when you move pulling on the material and it's CONTSTANTLY moving out of position and needing fixed. We don't plan on using this much longer before throwing it in the trash.

We recently switched from a standard king, to a split king adjustable bed. I have used the Platinum zip-off top mattress pad on a bed in our guest house, and LOVE it - the ease of taking off just the top to clean, and the complete encasement of the mattress is awesome! Unfortunately, this is the only mattress pad they have for a split king (which is just two twin xl mattresses...). I HATE it. My husband sleeps hot, and this just traps all the heat - he asked me to replace them (and it’s only been 2 months...) - he normally doesn’t care or say anything, even if he does, so for him to ask me to replace them is very telling... The Velcro that holds the top pad onto the mattress encasement is a joke - if you sit on the bed (even if it’s flat...) you can hear the Velcro giving way, and then it just gets all bunched up under the sheet. Forget about adjusting the bed - it’s never going to hold! I will be donating these to some poor, unsuspecting fool, and replacing them with something altogether different. Very disappointed!

Very impressed with this mattress pad. So far, it is the best I have ever purchased for my King bed. Red many reviews with people having performance issues. But this is not our experience. It's easy to launder because of the top "pad" layer is velcroed to the bottom so easily detachable for laundering. Also, HOT water washable! We had found other king mattresses do not fit well on our very thick matress. Added plus: Extra cushy layer, retains warm body heat, which is perfect in our cold, damp NW climate! I did not notice it was too warm during warmer weather. I purchased an extra one for our guest bedroom. This is prefect!

Do not buy. this is horrible. the Plastic in the protector makes that crinkling sound every time you move and mattress pad gets attached to the protector through 4 velco strips at each end...which do not stay in place. You literally get in bed and turn over and it un-attaches and bunches up on your mattress. Complete waste of money. I just purchased a new pad that fits over the corners like a fitted sheet, like this one should. Wish I had read the reviews before I bought, learned my lesson. Hoping for better luck with that one.

Do not buy. Does not zip around the whole mattress. Defeats the purpose. Also, there is no purpose for the extra pad as it never stays in place.

The product itself seemed ok, it is not loud and seems like it would work. I put a mattress pad over both of the items after I put it on the bed, just to snug the mattress pad down. Ultimately, I ended up returning it due to the fact that it was very hot, and we live in Florida, so it's just a no go !

Bought a couple of these for my kid's twin beds and they are much better than I expected. The mattress pad is two parts, a fitted plastic sheet that goes over the whole mattress and a padded mattress pad that is velcroed to the top of of the plastic fitted sheet. The plastic fitted sheet seems really waterproof, it had a lot of water pooled in it after being washed. For the first time I think our mattresses might be been safe from nighttime accidents and sickness. No problems so far washing in hot water or in the mattress pad coming off the mattress (and we have thinner mattresses). No one has complained of being extra hot either.

Really comfortable. Haven’t spilled anything on the bed yet so I don’t know it’s protection features. But I sleep well.

FINALLY a 100% washable in HOT water mattress pad cover. So sick of stupid "Do not wash. Spot clean only" pads! Thanks to Target for stocking this item. I washed it when it came per instructions, wash Hot, tumble dry Low. Pad is removable from cover for easiest washing, but I threw the whole business in and washed it all together to fine results. Very pleased. A fine value.

Its so comfortable I slept like a new born lol!

Purchased for bed-wetting, but this mattress protector is NOT waterproof. $300 latex topper ruined. I took the encasement over to the sink just to verify. Soaked it with water and could definitely feel the moisture coming through on the other side. Also the padded top isn't secure and slides around.

Weird and crinkly like a rubber diaper. Returned.

Good idea that failed in implementation. First, the part that covered the mattress lacks elastic in the sides. This allows that cover to slide all over the place ending up with a wad of plastic-feeling material that I couldn’t get to fit and stay in place. Second, the top has Velcro at all the corners which held just OK but with the overall looseness of the pad the whole mess creadted an uncomfortable series of lumps and bumps requiring frequent (daily) readjusting...including overnight bring woken, Third if you sleep warm this is going to worsen this. While the part that the sheets contact is OK the plastic coating on the cover holds in heat. I threw it away less than a month after my purchase.

I bought this in full size, it was so big the sheets keep coming off of the mattress. it does not have anywhere for the air to escape and when you sit or lay in the bed all the bedding moves because of so much air. I am trying the twin size for the full matress. If it does not fit I will be returning 2 instead of just the one. other than being so big, it is a nice cover and concept.
