I love this mirror, but I was nervous to order because of all the reviews saying the mirror arrived damaged. Target must have changed the packaging, because mine was packed very well and arrived in perfect condition! The black frame is shiny and the gold trim has an imperfect type of handpainted effect. I didn't realize either of these things, but I think it looks great.
