A: I have had this flatware about 3 months and the black has completely rubbed off of a large area one one knife blade. Not sure why. It is beautiful flatware though for casual dining, however.

Disappointed
I was so beyond excited to purchase these. I have always loved the look of black silverware and waited looked at these for months before purchasing. Finally bit the bullet and within a month of owning they are all almost ruined. I could not be more disappointed.

Not dishwasher safe
We LOVED these when purchased. We wanted something different. We love the look and the size, the weight and the feel. However, we don’t know because we’ve thrown away the packaging, but these are scratched and losing the coloring after we’ve washed them in the dishwasher. So we don’t know if they were not dishwasher-safe, but for $50 they should’ve held up, but they look horrible now.

Discoloring can be a sign of detergent not fully removed when washing the product which ultimately can lead to pitting. Citric and abrasive cleaning agents will also damage the flatware. Although dishwasher safe, the ideal method for washing any flatware is by hand. Wash your flatware as soon as possible after use. Some foods can promote staining/corrosion. Avoid soaking stainless flatware in water for an extended period. Avoid air drying if possible. Using a soft cloth to dry is beneficial. Do not wash your stainless flatware with any abrasive or acidic cleaning agents and do not soak flatware overnight. Do not use steel wool pads or detergent/polish compounds that scratch stainless steel or the coating. Chipped after one use
My husband bought me these for Christmas and I washed them in the sink before using and two forks are already chipping. I'm so sad because I love the color and the weight of it. Will not be buying from this company again

These are the ones!
I have been looking everywhere for all black matte finish utensils and I finally found them! I have had these for a little over a month. Numerous washes in the dishwasher and I gotta say that these are well worth the money. If your husband is saying “we don’t need them”..yes..yes you do..many others are coated with a black film and come right off after a single wash in the dishwasher. These don’t. You will not regret this single purchase. Get them before they are gone girlie.

Citric and abrasive cleaning agents will also damage the finish. Make sure the flatware is handled gently; Item to item contact can result in scratching, chafing and dulling of the PVD finish. PVD coatings are compliant to the Italian DM 21/03/1973 (suitable for foodstuffs and personal use). We also do regular GRAS testing to ensure safety.
