Q: How can I mount this on a plaster wall, since drywall anchors can't be used on plaster? Thanks!

submitted byKatrina - 3 years agoTarget staff supportA: I've had to do this several times. Ideally find a stud. If you have Try finding the stud using a strong magnet on the wall. Stud finders usually don't work. The lathe wood strips are nailed to the studs every 16-24 inches. Next hope to drill into a lathe. If still loose use the plastic plugs in the wall that expand when you insert the screw into them. If that doesn't work get toggle bolts that tighten on the inside of the wall, but know that you will have to drill a larger diameter hole to fit the bolt clamp through.

The mirror itself is beautiful and easy to hang, but the mirror is too heavy for the piece on the back to hang on the wall. The piece bent after a month hanging and the mirror fell and shattered.

The mirror itself is great. However the installation hardware is absolute trash. Instructions say to use a screwdriver for the pilot hole anchor which I did and the anchor broke apart in my wall leaving a huge hole. Ended up just using the screw above that hole and hoping it holds into the drywall. They should use a better anchor that can be used with a drill but instead so you don’t have to manually screw in a trash anchor for 30 minutes only for it to break into the wall. You get what you pay for.

I love these mirrors so much, I've purchased three of them. I have two in black and one in gold in different parts of my house. They look great in bathrooms, living rooms, and above fireplace mantels. It looks like it's from a high-end designer store, but at a much lower price point. Hanging this mirror did take a little bit of time, so make sure you double check your measurements before going through the process to hang.

Love the size, it was packed well and easy to install. The mirror quality is great for the price. My only complaint is on the brass finish. It looks more yellow painted vs. having a metallic finish. If you're looking for that shiny metal finish, this might not be the one for you.
