In regards to the thin fabric, the set you purchased is made from microfiber, which gets its name due to the fineness of the fibers woven together to create it- the fineness of the fibers create a thinner fabric than cotton, as cotton fibers are larger. The elastic issue you're experiencing is likely because the dimensions of your mattress are not the same as those of our sheets, which is why we provide the size chart for your review. We're sure if you contact Target directly they'll be able to assist.
