I’ve been using this as a gratitude journal for the past two months, writing down one positive thing I want to remember before bed each night. The size of the space to write per day is perfect— small enough that I actually use it every day, but big enough that you can actually fit quite a bit if you are concise and use a fine-point pen. Looking back at entries for the past few months is really calming for my anxiety (especially during COVID, when time feels broken.) The quality of the book is nice enough to give as a gift, so I’ve also given some to loved ones who are going through a transition period that they might want to look back on in a few years.

I have used one of these for more than 5 years and am now on my second volume :) I like the classic look and simple, androgynous styling. The tree ring design is just a piece of paper that comes off and the cover is all blue lines. The size is a little small but that has made it easy to bring on trips with me all over the world. You can start an entry on any day of the year, I started on my birthday. It is fun to read back through it and see where you were on that day in the past, but it is also cathartic to write a few sentences at the end of every day. At the back of the book there are pages to record your travels and the books you have read, which is also fun. It would make a great gift for a milestone birthday, graduation or the holidays. I wish I had used one in high school and college!
