The Terry Folding Bookcase from Winsome is a unique but easy-to-style bookcase, ideal for smaller living areas. The slim, tall bookcase is suited for rooms that need increased vertical storage but don't have much floor space to spare. When even more is needed, this four-shelf bookcase folds up to be stowed away until next time. Double stack this shelf to create a wall unit. Use it in the bathroom for your towels, in the kids room for their toys or in your office for books and files. Made from solid beech wood, Assembly is required.

Q: Do the sides lock in place when folded out or can they swing all the way out to a 180 degree angle?
If in a traffic space I want to ensure it won't easily swing out if nudged.

A: Please note that the side panels of this shelf do not have "locks" but were designed to only open up to a 90-degree angle.

I took pictures but can't upload them to this site?!! Anyway, I love this bookshelf. I didn't buy it because it folded up, but because I liked the look and thought it might be easier to put together than the other Winsome 55" book shelf I tried. It is a fairly easy assembly...the top shelf took a bit of work, but the rest of the unit went together easily. If you are buying it because it folds, just know that the top shelf would have to be remmoved before folding it - that was the shelf that didn't go in easily! It is black and there were a few blemishes on the top shelf which I fixed with Old English black polishing liquid. The sides are real wood, and the shelves are not, but I think the whole unit looks like real wood. I'm very happy with this purhase. Wish I could show you the pictures!!

Cute value bookcase, not perfect
I was between giving it a 3 and 4 star, but for the value I decided a 4. Plus: Mostly put together and was able to put it all together in a half hour. Someone really handy could of probably done it quicker. Plus: Cute skinny style is was a perfect fit for my bathroom. Plus: Doesn’t scream cheap. Negative: Shelves all had imperfections. Can’t tell if it was the paint job or quality of the wood. See pics. I’m putting towels on them so most of the time they should be covered up and didn’t want to hassle with replacing them since overall I’m happy with the unit. Just what I was looking for and at a pretty good price. Would of been a 5 star if all the shelves looked good.

Received two different shelves, both were defective. Don’t recommend at all unless you want to deal with the hassle of returning and exchanging shelves.
