52" Minka Aire Contractor Plus Brush Steel Ceiling Fan with Pull Chain

This fan is simple but very nice looking once installed. We added the optional light kit and were very happy with the end result. The only issue we had with the fan was that the nut under the cap on the bottom of the optional light assembly was screwed on cock-eyed thus making the fan unbalanced. Because of our remote location it was not feasible for us to return the fan for a replacement or to have it repaired. This was a manufacturing defect and my husband was leery of trying to unscrew the nut for fear he'd break something. We attached only 4 of the 5 blades because we wished for greater air movement in the 840 sq. foot room the fans are in. So far they have helped tremendously with keeping the room well heated and the light kit we chose provides very good lighting.

I purchased three MinkaAire 52" fans. It turned out that I only needed two and I returned the third without any hassles or complications. They matched the decor, they run quietly and provide plenty of air movement. The only problem is the down rod is very short (4") which makes it difficult to attach the canopy and work on the wiring. A 6" rod would be better.

No frills design but MinkaAire quality at good price. Would prefer medium speed to be a little faster so difference from medium to high was not so pronounced otherwise no complaints.

We bought two of the white version to go into two adjoining living room spaces and they melt into the ceiling. I HATE those ugly fake wooden ones with lights that take over the whole room. These are big and put out wonderful airflow. Recommend them highly and the Lighting Direct experience.
