70" Landon Large Bookcase - Crosley

I agree with others, that the cam locks on these are TERRIBLE. They're extremely hard to turn and lock—many of them impossible. ...so we hacked things together (hollowed out the plastic cams and used wood glue instead). In the end, the general look is really nice. But the build was not smooth—and in the end makes things a little off (drawer was difficult to slide in, and the whole piece is a little unlevel.)

First shipment was returned due to broken pieces and the white paint odor was overwhelming. Tried again with the brown option. No paint odor, but received two damaged pieces. Called customer service and they sent replacements. After completing the assembly, the drawer was lopsided and would not open and close smoothly. Customer service sent more replacement parts. Ultimately, after many hours of time assembling, disassembling and reassembling, we should have spent the extra money and bought the better item from West Elm.

Item came damaged. Item came with signs that it was already built and put apart before, it already has a screw in one of the holes and signs of peeled wood! Besides that all the corners were broken. very disrespectful to send such a damaged item, it’s not like it’s so cheap!

Upon opening the box, we discovered both of the legs were BROKEN! We are currently in process for a replacement. Target’s guest service has definitely declined! Their call reps do NOT know what they are doing… we had to speak to 5 different reps for some to understand that we needed to schedule a pickup to return the damaged item. Ugh! Hopefully the replacement is fine…

So disappointed. Waited to take it out of the box until the home renovations were done only to find that one of the end pieces is broken in 3 places. Second piece of furniture that I have ordered from Target that arrived broken.

TL;DR - Very nice bookcase, just some minor engineering errors, don't expect quality customer service. I needed a nice sized bookshelf for my small apartment. This is true to measurement and fit nicely in my space. I really liked the drawer at the bottom to store my games. The design itself is very nice, mid-century reproduction. It's sturdy and a very pretty color. It is a heavy piece and when the box got to me it looked like they kicked and dragged the it all the way here. Because of that, some of my corners have some gnarly dings on them. No big deal, though disappointing. As a single lady, it was not impossible to put together solo, but having an extra set of hands would have been nice, espeically with the larger side pieces. I ran into one engineering difficulty. Their locking mechanisms are really neat, when they work. You have to pray that the person putting in the locks put them on straight, other wise you will break them (like I did). I reached out the manufacturer's customer service as was indicated on their instructions. I didn't recieve a confirmation of my inqury and they did not respond to me for almost a week. I just jammed the pieces together with a little glue. (Update: They did finally contact me, but needed several pictures. One of which was of the box! I have a small apartment, that went out days ago! Nothing back yet). All in all, I do reccomend this bookcase. It's pretty and spacious and just what I needed.

It is exactly what I was looking for, great quality. Took 3 of us to put it together and a lot of the clips were difficult to close. But put effort snd strength into it and you will get them locked.

It was super easy to assemble and makes the perfect bookshelf. It’s my favorite piece of furniture now.
