Q: Can you clean the blade? A review I read said there was mold on bottom of blade and they couldn't reach it. Thanks.

submitted by mary - 8 years ago
  • A: Unfortunately, the blade is in the drinking cup, the only way to get it really clean is in the dishwasher... handwashing could be dangerous!

    submitted byBostonGirl8 - 7 years ago
  • A: Thank you for your question. Yes, while the blade is not removable, this area can still be cleaned.

  • A: From a chef's perspective in case you do not have a dishwasher, one way to clean it would be to insert dish soap and little warm (not hot) water. Turn it on to distribute the soapy water around the blades. Pour it out and continue to wash until one's own liking. Best to do this after every use to prevent the build-up of mold or bacteria.

Q: Having problems detaching the cup from the black motor part. It's hard to screw off or unlock. Am I doing something wrong to remove? Thank you!

  • A: I had to throw out the 2 that I had bought--after 4 months, neither would separate the cup from the black bottom. I bought it a second time because (a) thought that inability to separate cup from black bottom on the first one was a fluke and (b) liked the way it looked and had worked previously. Now must buy another brand.
