Q: Can the shelves be installed on either side? (it would appear so by the photos, but would like to confirm)

A: The shelves are on the left side and can only be screwed in one way. If you turn the desk around, the support bar on the bottom and under top edge are in the front so a chair cannot go under

A: LOL! The table is turned aroung in the second picture, that's why the shelves are in the right. This is a left side storage desk

Easy to put together. Not too heavy What I did not like about it and the only reason it didn’t get 5stars was because it had fiberglass on everything. As soon as I opened the box it was everywhere. Had to put gloves on and clean outside.

I like the overall design of the desk. I bought it specifically because of the shelf measurements to fit some space themed IKEA bins that match my son's space themed Pillowfort bedding and decor. The product specs show the measurements of the shelves to be 16 1/4" deep with a 16 1/4" opening. In reality the shelves are 15 1/2" deep, 13 1/2" wide and with only 11 1/8" opening. That's a big difference and certainly won't fit the IKEA bins that I specifically bought this desk for.

I was given wrong pieces. I got two duplicate pieces, and one of them was for the part of the desk that goes below the actual tabletop to secure it on. So livid but can’t imagine packing it all up and going to the store to replace it with another janky one.

Very easy to put together. If anything, too easy. I think it will hold up, though. The top of the desk came with a blemish but since it's near the back where I can't see it, it doesn't bother me as much. And for the sale price? Not many complaints here. I also really like the adjustable shelf.
