A: I have the same question. I just took it out of the package and it sounds like a waterproof mattress cover, like a plastic sound.

On the plus side it is very thick and I tend to sweat easily but for some reason, I don't sweat under this. Two stars for the lovely size (fills out duvet cover nicely) but missing three more stars for the PLASTIC material. What even is this??? Good lord, down alternative and recycled tarps? You cannot adjust to the crinkling. Don’t fall for the price. Go the extra $30 and get the soft, plush duvet you deserve.

I live in San Diego. And this comforter is way too thick and hot for this weather out here. Will be returning. However it’s great quality. But not for this weather. Also it won’t fit in your washing machine to wash.

While it isn’t awful it’s not great. Check the dimensions as it seems it’s sized to fit the threshold brand duvets not standard sizes. It’s very puffy, but incredibly crunchy sounding. The sound has not gone away after 6+ months and I wished I had gone with a much higher rated, much lower costing option from a larger retailer.
