Always Maxi Protection Extra Heavy Overnight Extra Long Menstrual Pads - 10ct

It protects all night!

This size 6 pad goes beyond Always size 5 Extra Heavy Overnight pad in that it has raised edges along the length to effect a better barrier at the edges of the pad. As well as being about an inch longer the size 6 also has a much wider back - on other pads the rear wings are for attachment purposes and do not contain absorbent material. The rear 'wings' on this contain substantial absorbent material. While this is marketed as a "Maxi" it is not an ultrathin but does seem to have less thickness than their regular maxipads. The only other pad as long as this is L's overnight Maxi but the thickness of that pad places it much closer to an ultrathin. These pads worked well. They are absorbent, soft, and if this is an issue for you, they are discrete owing to the fact that they are not super thick. I don't know that Always needed to make this product as the size 5 is pretty much the same thing except for the wider padded portion at the rear and the leak guard barriers which are borrowed from their 'Discrete' LBL pads. They are different market segments but if your period is that heavy you can pick up a package of Always Discrete pads. It pains me to mention it but it seems a lot of pad users don't seem to understand that even the best pad will leak of you are not wearing the right pair of undies. For pads, your underpants should fit you snugly - maybe wear a size or two smaller than your normal. Your panties should reliably hold that pad close to your body as you move. In my experience, undersized cheeky underwear works well for this. Avoid laser cut panties as they won't hold the outer edges of the pad into your bottom. Panties with a seam that runs from the back of the gusset to the middle back work well as they usually, when pulled tight, pull the middle of the pad into your butt crack, like how a thong works. Anyway, hope you have a more bearable period!

These leak! The leak guard barriers held nothing in. It’s as if the material on the pad is not absorbent and the barriers lay flat causing flow to get on them making leaks worse. They’re also real big and get squished easily. The 5s are better.

I have been a plus size woman all my life with a heavy heavy flow. I’m so thankful ALWAYS finally came out with this product. On my heavy days in the past I would have to double up a size 5 overnight for better coverage but it was not quite enough This size wings span and everything is a wonderful just wonderful

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These pads are on the larger side but they are great for keeping EVERYTHING covered. No worry about accidental spills, this pad will catch it all. However, it drops trap sweat very easily and if you don't change it enough that constant wetness will cause some chafing. Usually during the day its changed enough it doesn't matter, but overnight when you're sleeping, it does make things uncomfortably damp.

Virtually every complaint I have ever had about pads has been addressed in this design. Kudos to team/person who designed this thing...it has enough coverage (front & back) and wings are in right place. I used to wear 2 pads on heavy days to cover sudden issues standing or changing positions (iykyk & sometimes still had leaks), and since buying these I no longer need to do that. They are a bit thicker than my usual thin pads, but happily trade that to no longer have to worry about leaks or wearing 2.

I wish that it was thinner but that's not a feature I'd be willing to trade for the leak protection this pad provides.
