Q: Will this work outside the home? I’m looking to purchase two..one for my home and one for my dad who is in a nursing facility. I want to be able to play jazz music for him from the app on my phone.
A: Hi SW ONE, thanks for reaching out about Apple HomePod mini No, HomePod mini devices primarily rely on being on the same Wi-Fi network as your iPhone or iPad for most features and functions, including personal requests and AirPlay. While they can connect to different networks under certain conditions, such as using 802.1X networks, they are designed to work seamlessly within a single, unified network environment. If you have any additional questions, we welcome you to contact MyTGTtech at 833-848-8324 every day, between 7am-11pm CST.

Q: How does the intercom work
A: You have to have HomePods in other rooms so it can work
submitted byDrea - 7 months agoA: Hi watchbuyer3, thanks for reaching out about Apple HomePod mini. The Apple HomePod mini's intercom feature is a convenient way to communicate with people in your home. Here's a breakdown of how it works: Core Functionality: Sending Messages: You can send voice messages from one HomePod or HomePod mini to others in your home. This can also be done from your iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and even CarPlay. Receiving Messages: Messages are played on all designated HomePod speakers in your home. Notifications can also be received on iPhones, iPads, and Apple Watches. Replying: You can reply to intercom messages, and your reply will be sent back to the originating device or to all devices, depending on the original message's scope. How to Use It: Using Siri: The most common way is to use Siri voice commands. For example: "Hey Siri, intercom 'Dinner is ready.'" "Hey Siri, announce upstairs 'I'm going to the store.'" "Hey Siri, reply 'I'll be right there.'" Using the Home App: You can also send messages through the Home app on your iPhone or iPad. If you have any additional questions, we welcome you to contact MyTGTtech at 833-848-8324 every day, between 7am-11pm CST.

Q: If I am sleeping and a alarm goes off in my basement can my iPhone alert me when this is placed by alarm in basement?
A: Hi, thanks for reaching out about the Apple HomePod mini Yes, but only for specific safety alarms like smoke or carbon monoxide detectors. The HomePod mini has a feature called Sound Recognition that allows it to act as a listener for your existing, non-smart safety alarms. If your smoke or CO detector in the basement goes off, the HomePod mini will "hear" the distinct pattern of the alarm and send a Critical Alert to your iPhone If you have any additional questions, we welcome you to contact MyTGTtech at 833-848-8324 every day between 7 am and 11 pm CST.
