several inches too wide and long

It took my husband a little while to assemble this bed, but he said it wasn't too much trouble. At first glance, it looks beautiful. It's really clean looking and I love the style. but upon closer inspection, there are some spots where it's clear that whoever stained it did a rushed job. there are visible lines where it dried and whatnot. Not super noticeable, but still. The biggest problem and the reason I deducted two stars is that the frame is too big for a king size mattress!! Yes, the bed will sit on the platform and it is safe and secure, but there are several inches of gap around the sides and at the bottom. I'm super disappointed about that. king size beds are a standard size, so this should NOT be an issue.
