Make sure you get the correct controller (usbc or lightening)
These reviews are hilarious. Just make sure you get the right controller with the right port (lightening port or usbc) lol. You’re not going to be able to keep your phone case on while using the controller, not sure how that’s surprising to so many people. If you get a controller that’s clearly been used and returned just take it back, pretty simple fix. You don’t have to use the backbone app at all to use the controller so don’t get baited into paying for an unnecessary subscription. The controller works great if you take care of it. After about two years I started to get some stick drift but I beat this thing up and tossed it around. It’s a great product.

Great christmas present.
I got the back bone for my 11 year old for Christmas and I was worried it wouldn’t be as good as the PlayStation portal and I was wrong. My kiddo loves playing and not having to be stuck in his room on the console. The only thing we haven’t figured out how he can use it once we leave the house. But we just need to research some more. Love the price and graphics and he said he loves how the controllers fit in his hands.

Don't trust new
If I could give a negative review I would. I was super excited to try this out. I bought one literally 30 minutes ago came straight home and opened it to find that it looks like it has used and abused for years I mean the left trigger doesn’t even work. How can you justify selling something “brand new” for over $100 with taxes just to serve someone battered crap.

Do not purchase!!! Will not fit iphone 14 pro max with adaptor
I wanted to love this but you have to take your iPhone case completely off for this to work subparly. I will wait till I can find the PlayStation portal as this was complete garbage.

Very inconvienent
My husband bought this for me because I wanted to play games on my phone and I used to love my PSP. Thought this would be a similar experience. Games are hard to find to play and I don’t mind paying for a single subscription if it means easy access to my game catalogue but 20 minutes in and I’m already being prompted to set up a second subscription to play a game I already own. Super disappointed because I really liked the concept and the controller design, but would rather get a used PSP and find used games online for it.

It’s a good product but if you have big hands don’t buy it hurt your hand after 1 hour and you can get stick drift on it in under a month get insurance on it.

Don't buy it ifff you have an iphone 14 pro
Doesn’t fit with or without case. I brought today & refunded it. Was a gift for my bf and he was so happy until he put his phone and it doesn’t fit at all. All hyped for nothing. Don’t buy the camera is in the way, it moves the device wrong with the iPhone 14. (Without case he did it also, still didn’t fit) it was sad seeing his face all happy then all sad. Save your money.

This item is an amazing product, only thing i would have to dislike is how my phone heats up when using it and its not compatible with a case for my phone. Ive read reviews about how it doesn’t work well with iPhone 14 promax due to the camera but the package includes an adapter that fixes that, the quality of the item is worth the money as well, no vibration though witch is fine,also you don’t have to pay for a subscription unless you plan on using it on the go witch for me is not the case. Overall a great item to have.

Probally one of the dumbest things ever. You need to have a ps5 console to play Fortnite on this or you can download the xbox app on ur iphone but there is a waiting time. Mine was 115minutes just so i can play Fortnite without a console. Now if you do have a console, your console has to be on or on “rest mode” if you wanna use your console games.

Excellent Purchase!
I was a bit conflicted on buying the Backbone because of the reviews. But it went on sale at 30% off so I went ahead and bought it. It was a bit challenging to set up to use the Xbox Cloud Play. But let me tell you it was worth it. You don’t need an Xbox console. Just an Xbox Ultimate Game Pass subscription. The iPhone edition works well (came with adapter) and I was able to screen mirror to my AppleTV. Only downfall is I wanted the PlayStation white edition, I am a mom in my 40’s so trying to get used to shape buttons as opposed to letters was also challenging. But who doesn’t love to learn something new?

Beware with iPhone 14 Pro
The iphone 14 pro camera pushes against the backbone causing the lightening port to plug into the device at an angle even with the included adapter. Will return as this seems like it will cause future issues with my lightening port on my iphone... its a bummer as the quality of the controller feels great but was probably designed for 13 pro and earlier phones (which may work fine)

Buttons are responsive. Big downside is cases for phones MUST be taken off. Build quality is nice. Just wish the phone connector is adjustable.

iPhone backbone…….pointless
The Backbone is a very nice quality controller no doubt. It was a great size portable. I really loved the streaming that you were able to do. That was very accessible. At the same time it would've been better off just a regular mobile Bluetooth controller that you could buy Xbox and PlayStation games on. . I just felt like it was no point of getting the controller if you had a console unless you traveled a lot or the go, And if you didn't have console , you were limited to a lot of popular games you could play. There were a lot of apps that I had to download for the controller. And as a package, keep in mind you had to pay for the controller, if you had an Xbox or PlayStation membership, then the Backbone app is free but if you wanted that membership that's a monthly bill as well. You're better off just buying the game system itself.
