Backpack Chair - Sun Squad™

Everything about this chair would be five stars except your can’t decline it… like at all. It wasn’t comfortable for me to sit that straight on the beach so immediately used a different chair.

Loved the backpack and storage feature. I like how it’s also detachable. Just didn’t like how the lean wasn’t adjustable so you could only sit in one position.

The chair itself is fine, the cup holders are nice, and the chair is comfy. The storage in the backpack is nice. However, neither of the two we bought came with instructions and it’s pretty confusing on how to configure the strap to be able to actually carry it on your back as a backpack. It’s possible, but very uncomfortable. I’ve borrowed backpack chairs from plenty of people before and this is by far the hardest to actually carry on my back. Also $40 is kind of steep considering it doesn’t recline and isn’t very easy to just put on and off your back. You have to unhook the straps every time you want to open the chair after carrying it. (Maybe there’s a better way, but again, no instructions with ours and no instructions online to view).

This chair came with instructions on how to utilize the straps in order to carry the chair on your back. Did they make it confusing without the instructions? Kind of, I guess, but I’m assuming whoever came up with the design thought it’d be appreciated if the backpack was removable. I have one of these chairs from many years ago that I still love, just wanted a newer one as well. One thing I do miss is the little pillow that used to be attached to the older chairs. And the older chair is shorter in the back - this one is much higher so a short person like me may have some trouble walking with it attached to their back!

I cant tell if it's suppose to be a chair backpack or a backpack and a chair but I figured out a way to make it both.

I really wanted to like this chair. We were looking for chair backpacks to walk to the beach with so our hands would be free to carry coolers. It’s extremely important that you realize that what you are purchasing is a chair and a backpack that are intended to be used separately!!! We have spent the past 20 minutes finding a way for this to work as a “chair backpack” however it’s very clear that it was not engineered for that purpose. The chair itself is comfy which is why I gave it 2 stars.
