Bernat Blanket Ethereal Stripes Springtime

I am currently working on a blanket, and I love how it feels, so soft and squishy. The yarn is easy to work with; the only thing I hate is the knots I'm finding in my cake. My first cake had 4 knots, and the rest of the cakes will determine if I'll buy this again.

I love the Bernat Blanket Yarn. It always makes quick throws for gifts and they are always a hit. For several years now there is at least one or two friends or family that will ask for one so when I first saw this new Ethereal line on Target’s website? I was REALLY wanting to get my hands on some. Felt VERY fortunate to be able to snag the Sunrise color. It arrived today and I started a blanket after dinner. Family voted, nothing fancy, just crank out a HDC “no holes” blanket. (I have all boys so, that is typical-I won’t ask opinions if I have a “fancy” stitch in mind… ANYWAY …. The color change is great, it’s very soft and works easily on my resin (Furls) hook. This line reminds me a bit more of the now discontinued PREMIER YARNS GUMDROP™ CHENILLE in softness and HOWEVER 🥺when I went to just weave in the bottom that was bothering me a few rows in, the chenille started to just fall off the end. I don’t ever remember that really happening for more than just a few mm before but unlike the Premier Gumdrop Chenille, the thread it’s attached to was very delicate. Usually I’ll just remove the loose chenille and tie off the thread or attach it if I find a knot etc. Not so far on the Ethereal. I am REALLY, REALLY hoping this is a fluke. The ends of the Bernat Blanket yarns chenille not falling off en-mass is one of the things I just LOVE about the line. Obviously I’m going to keep on going but this will be a major bummer if this is normal for this line b/c I was hoping to buy more color ways. *in my photos, I decided to take a photo after I had already tossed most of the fallen chenille.

It is so soft. I love working with the cake style vs the skein. The 'issue' i have is that in my project, I'll be joining 2 cakes; so I wish 1 cake ended differently. That's just for this project, a C2C blanket. Definitly will buy again.

I love this yarn so much. I like to have a stock of yarn for baby blankets, and that is what this will be used for. I grabbed a bunch more this time. I have been given some of this for a blanket, and the colors came out perfectly. I don't like changing colors myself and love the gradient that it became.

This bernat blanket yarn is so soft and fluffy but sturdy at the same time. The color ways are amazing. I’ve already worked a blanket in sunrise and springtime. I will warn that out of 12 springtime cakes I had one that had the color way reversed. Not a big deal as long as you catch it and work it from the outside in.
